the stock tire size on the outty 650 is the 26 inch carlisle act.  I'm wondering what would be the differences if I mounted the 25 inch carlisle act.  Would the one inch smaller tire lower the gearing any and allow it to accelerate quicker? the 1/2 inch loss in ground clearance isn't an issue with me, this is purely for fast trail riding. I would think that a smaller tire might actual handle better. I know the renegades come with 25 inch holeshot atrs that measure about 23.5 inches. I do have the hpg shocks all around so my handling and suspension feels much better than when stock.   Just want to hear some pro and con opinions about this.  thanks

You might want to go with 25" terracross. They'd hook up better and the smaller size would be a bit quicker on accelleration.

If you really want good acceleration..  go with a bias-ply tire.  They are lighter than a Radial, thus allowing more horsepower to the ground via less rotating mass.. Heavier, not necesarily larger tires is what sucks out horsepoower.
One that comes to mind would be a Mudlite AT with the 3/4" lugs.

yeah I thought of terras but I might have a set of 25 act for close to nothing
