has anyone played with a G-tech pro on their ATV?  i don't know if it'll do 1/8th mile runs, but it offers some other data acquisition that might prove useful for off the dyno tuning.

Well looks like the LM-2 will have to wait. It's getting bad reviews on stability. I found several vendors that still have the lm-1/lma3 combo. I think it would be better anyway to have the accelerometer function if it works good. Engie used it much?

As for running out of road. We have lots of straight dirt roads around here but I'm not sure I really want to goto max speed on every run. Has anyone messed with trying to limit the CVT so It will stop shifting say 3rd gear? I would think you could get the engine loaded enuff by then to give a good reading and still climb to the high end of the RPMs without running out of road.
I might be able to answer alot of my own Questions when I actually get one in hand, Just picking you guys brains

The thing that usually hinders the runs is either tire slippage (dirtroads) or keeping on the throttle with the front wheels in the air. (pavement) we dont do 1/8th mile runs but its nice to have the extra shut down room. I've tried doing runs in the grass (cause I have plenty of that) and I wind up having some really erratic data logs. It works well with 0%-20% but tends to drop off after that.

As a note to what I said earlier, I got in the bluetooth attachment for the lm1 and the software for my phone!  Looks like this is going to be SWEETTTT!  If it works from the distance that they claim it does(150 ft), I'm going to be building waterproof enclosures to house the lm1/lma3 on our "best" racebike and leaving them in place for the mudraces.

It'd be pretty SWEET to be getting full diagnostics of what the bike is doing wirelessly to my cellphone on the sidelines!!!  NASCAR, I am still waiting on the call!

that would be a very useful tuning tool to actually be able to see real time what is going on while racing.

I hope the snorkles are high and the exaust is tight. I thoght the same thing until I read all the warnings about how the sensors hate water. Not such a problem in the drag pits but in the swamp cross I always get a good bit of slash in the snorkles. Seems like that would come out the exaust as steam.

It should be interesting to see.  Burning out a sensor is not a big deal really in the name of experience.  It still isn't something I'd want to do more than once I don't guess!  The reason I think it'll be fine in the situation that you describe is because of all the car guys out there that are using this setup and doing just fine with intercoolers/water injection...
