No the C4 is the three speed auto that went behind the small blocks, the C6 is the three speed auto that was behind the Big Blocks and Cleveland small blocks. Both are stong trans when properly built and can be made full manual, relatively inexpensive, in either foreward or reverse shift pattern.

Get a good high torque starter and make sure that you do everything you can to keep the heat of the manifolds off of it. Heat will kill your starters ability to start. Also check your ground and make sure that you have big enough cable going to your starter. If you are having a voltage drop that will help.

my brother had i think it was a CVR high tourge startor in his 55 ford with a built 350 bowtie in it but it would crank even after the main bearing seized up so it was deffinatly a good startor

My starter has no ground cable. Just a pos+

Thats cause it is grounded through the body of the starter to the engine block :D

Yeah I found that out after I looked at it again. Any idea how much it should cost to rebuild my T4?

.blew the stock 304 amc motor and when i say blew i mean blew 3 rods outta the side of the block!
.trashed out t156 trans
.put a drive shaft thru the floor boards
.sheared about 12 teeth off the rear ring gear.
.ripped a pass rim off the hub
.rolled the jeep and spring creek offroad park

.2 transmissions
.blew the rearend apart
.ripped 2 22in rims off the passenger side of the truck.

CANT KEEP BOOST HOSES ON IT! something about 100psi of boost is to much...... i dunno what they are talking about. lol
