Well I hope it does not make inland to you all you quy's need a break from the storms and time to heal from the other one's.  I will pray that it misses your area and I thought all the rain we have had here in Ontario Canada was an issue but that is nothing compared to what all of you have to put up with and being on evacuation mode.  Keep up the good spirits and hope it all works out for you all.

i dont think i can handle another big storm hitting the ms gulf coast. we didnt lose everything like many of my friends and family but we didnt have alot left afterwards and it was miserable. and if fema doesnt supply ice there is serously no way in heck we could survive. sometimes i wish they had lived through what i went though for two months of my life in what was supposed to be the time of my life and now im a sophomore in college and if this hits i will have to leave school this semester most likely. sorry for the long post im just fraking out at the moment. because my father is very sick and my grand father and grandmother are in thre high 80s and it pretty much leaves me to take care of everyone and everything.

It all depends on what that high does.....right now there is a high over florida and they expect that high ridge of pressure to extended from florida over through texas by saturday I think they said, which would force the storm more towards mexico and south texas.  But thats all contingent on that high not losing its strength.  Right now its pretty much a wait and see game, but I will be ****ed I'm still going riding this weekend no mater wht the SOB does out there.

I don't see how y'all deal with that every year.  We get a few tornadoes every spring but they are not 500 miles wide and they don't last 12 hours.  Good luck and don't be a hero.  Get out of the way.

Don't be like those New Orleans folks and wait for the government to come get you. There is plenty of room in Tennessee for you.  We are a pretty peaceful bunch up here.

it can go anywhere in the gulf, but it have to get past the yucatan channel and into the gulf of mexico for them to predict a more accurate path.

that's true, Fay did nothing it was supposed to do.  It was a record breaking storm. Making land fall in FL 4 times. Luckily she wasn't fast, just really slow with alota rain. Gustav need to go to Mexico, although I know he won't.  I feel for you guys in MS and LA. Take refuge out of the way, cause this one looks to be another strong one!

I live up in Jackson, MS, and it wasn't anywhere close to what it was down on the coast during Katrina, but this is where alot of people evacuated.  I know there were alot of people looking for hotel rooms and such and alot of people opened up their doors for other people also.  I want to extend that invitation.  I have two extra bedrooms if the storm gets too bad and people start evacuating up from the coast or Louisiana.  I know its a little while off, but anyone that needs some shelter, just let me know.  Im sure there are other people around here also that will help out also.
