that has been my instance for 4-5 times i actually had to go. i will NEVER pay a ticket. I HIGHLY recommend anyone just take the time if there is anyway possible to go to court. you pay them their money (which is increasing every year) and then go right back to gambling. i have seen some young folks get to do "driving school" but that is still a lot cheaper than having a ticket on your record which makes your insurance go up.

yea usually ur first one u get to take a safe driving class if ur under 18 at the time which around here if u dont get a ticket until ur 18 then ur an exception to the rules

ive gotten 2 tickets i think, 1st one i didnt wanna tell dad cuz i was scared he'd beat my ****, then i forgot to pay the ticket so they sent me a notice after i didnt show up for the court thingy and he found that letter in the mail, so he got on me and i paid it and it went on my record

second one was funny cuz i was going to church and was on a 35mph road and was doing i think 49 or something and i just saw the front of her car behind a dumpster a couple seconds to late and right as i past her i just pulled over automatically cuz i knew she was coming, well she pulled over there, never even left the parking lot she was sitting in and never turned her lights on, i was nice to the female cop and she still wrote me a ticket and as she was writing the ticket they had these two ricers burn down the street drag racing each other and they musta been in there 50s-60s and she looked over her shoulder at them and said nothing and i didnt say nothing about it as well...i ended up getting a friends mom who worked at a lawyers office to try to fix it, well she got her boss (the lawyer) to write the DA a letter and i just had to go in and pay a seatbelt fine

don't know how it works in your court system, but in most court systems..it will still go on your record..even if you go to court or not...if you state you are guilty either by paying the ticket off or by going to court it will go on your record...and in north carolina you still have to pay the court cost even if you don't go to court...the fine and court cost are together, you pay them both...here you go to the highway patrol office to get the window tint affidavit...a trooper has to check your windows agian and the trooper fills out the affidavit so you can send it in to get the window ticket dismissed...

I've taken the 4 hour class 5 times now. One was court ordered so it doesn't go toward my 5 in a lifetime. I have one left....

yea but do you have to have some sort of excuse to have the dark tint or what?  i know my friend has a doctors excuse that he carrys that says his eyes get messed up and act funny when its bright out

i really need to look into it becuz everyday when i drive home in the evening i am crying becuz the sun is messing with my eyes so bad, i wear glasses so sunglasses are out of the question, and i dont have contacts so thats another reason why i cant wear sunglasses...before when i had my front windows tinted before i got stopped by the state popo, my fronts were 12% and were suppose to be like 35% and my backs were 5% and were suppose to be like 20%, then he didnt say anything about my back glass which was also 5%...after taking my tint off so i wouldnt get a ticket i end up swirving more now on the road and having trouble driving becuz my eyes are watering becuz the sun is to bright...its not so bad when i wear sunglasses which im not suppose to but i still do but its still pretty much once i walk out the door at work to walk to my truck 20' away by the time i get the sunglasses on im already watering up

do i have to have an eye doctors excuse to bring to the state trooper place to get an affidavite filled out?

just did some research on it

i have to fill this out

[font="times new roman" designtimesp="4112"]http://www.lsp.org/pdf/WindowTintExemption-SunAllergy.pdf
[font="times new roman" designtimesp="4112"]
then send it in to some state office that will then review the case or application and either approve or disapprove it, it doesnt say that a medical doctor has to have anything to do with it but i looked around and unless u own a business and u transport overly expensive stuff then it looks for an individual the only way to really possibly have half a chance is to get a optomitrist or a dermatoligist to fill something out about you being allergic to the sun or have eye problems with the sun

and then the thing if it gets approved only lasts for 3 years before you have to reapply

may be worth it to not catch crap about the window tint stuff if u get pulled over for it but it seems like an aweful lot to do just to get the excemption, next eye doctor appointment for me should be coming up soon so i am going to ask him about it, cuz honestly my eyes do water when i wear my regular glasses and the sun is out in full force, they dont water so much with my oakleys on and the sun is out but then i cant really read the road signs, i can see perfectly fine and i drive all the time with just sunglasses on but i cant read what the road signs say until they get closer to me

yea they do but u seen the price of them things, i could buy 2 more pairs of oakleys for the price that it would cost me to just get the sunglass lenses that i need and i am not wearing them goofy hang on ur glasses type that my mom dad and grandma wear, ill just wear my sunglasses 24/7 while driving and when or if i get pulled over ill just explain to the officer why im not wearing my glasses to drive, and hopefully itll be a the same state trooper that stopped me for my window tint roflmao

i know when u have to have glasses to drive they put something on ur liscense saying it but how does the cop not know that u have contacts in or not, are they trained to look for that or what?

Apparently in Mississippi you don't even have to sign the ticket. He didn't ask me to.

i have only asked to see the RADAR one time.

Memorial day i was driving to work and nobody else on the road so i got my crusie set on 69 the needle just a hair before 70. this in a 65 zone. a little foggy i was 30 minutes earlier than i had to be to get to work this day but anyway all of a sudden i see the city guy coming on the other side of highway, 2 lanes each side, cut real fast in the median. noone else was within sight so i assume he's coming for me but i never hit the brakes just left the cruise on and took the off ramp to get onto another road that i would trun onto anyway so as i get on it i just decide to stop and let him come say HI. he finally gets there, by the way the off ramp has a YELLOW sign that says 35 on it, i know this guy cause i have a cousin on the city force and have been in this town all my life.  anyway he says you know why i pulled you over. so i say actually i dont because i wasn't speeding. did i mention this guy is a known JERK. he says oh yes you were doing 80. yep he said 80. soi say oh no i wasnt. i say i might have been doing 70 but not 80 and he says i got it on RADAR so i just say I need to see that. he says come on back. so as i am getting out he says... you know you cant out run me in that! i stopped in my tracks and said what are you talking about? he says i saw how you shot up that off ramp like you wanted to run. folks i was in a 99 Malibu 4 cylinder 4 door. so where he go the idea i was going to run is beyond me. at this time back up came cause he had already radioed that i was running. so backup came up the off ramp the wrong way and pulled in in front of my car. anyway after the shock settled a second for him telling me i was going to run. he opens his car door and guess what folks. there was the RADAR......turned OFF. he just looks at me and says its my lucky day cause his controller slips off the console beside the seat and the switch gets turned off. i literally laughed out loud.
so he knows i am ticked and started to tell me i could report this to the chief and as he started to give me his name i told him i knew him and named off his family and my cousins family and the chiefs family and asked him how all of them were and told him who i was and some of my family. my mom has 13 siblings, in a small town like this everyone knows everybody else.

so we talked about 10 more minutes about stuff but he never admitted he was wrong.

I honestly think he clocked me doing 70 but he was dead set that is said 80.

First, the citation you were issued is NOT the offical complaint. The citation that you get just tells you that a traffic complaint has been filed.  Once the officer turns in the citation to the courts, the citation becomes a complaint that the officer has to sign. The officer can change any mistakes on the citation. In some states a letter has to be sent out for certain type of mistakes. Remember police offiers are human and do make mistakes. Yes, we hold all officers above that and expect them not to make mistakes. But they do.

Second, as mentioned before, the weather will not make a radar or lazer give out a false reading.  It does limit the distance at which your speed can be verified.  Officers already give some people brakes by not radaring from 6-10 degress.  This is where the radar works the best. If the officer is out of this area, then the radar will show a slower speed then what the driver is actually going. Ive been an Officer for 15 years and I can not tell how fast someone is going. YES, I can tell if they are speeding but I cant tell you what speed they are going. I will have to call BS on any officer saying they can just look at a vehicle and know what the speed at which it is going.

Some Judges will dismiss a citation for mistakes. However they do not have to. Its just up to the judge and how he/she is feeling.

Also as mentioned before, since you were reading and speeding in the rain your lucky that you didnt cause a wreck.  I have worked numerous wrecks cause by people reading. And yes, some have been fatal.

Yes, there is ways  to beat citations, but Im not going to list them. Just in case one someone I have wrote a citation for is reading this..LOL....Before yall start bashing me, I do give a 15mph buffer on the highways and a 10mph buffer in the residental areas.

Yeah, 84 past Brookhaven is 65mph. It goes to 55mph around Old 84 on the east end of town and goes back to 65 afetr you pass the 84 Chevron station on the west end of town.

in north carolina we have e-citation...its a program on our computers in our cars that does an electronic citation that we print and give to the violator right there on the side of the road...they do not have to sign it or anything...after the traffic stop we transmit it to the court..kanda like e-mail...i never let anyone in my car on a regular traffic stop (speeding, expired tags,inspection..etc)..officer safety issues...that is the way we get trained...a know some states train different and there is always good and bad to everything...not knocking the way other agencies do things...also it is our chose to let the person see the radar..i personally do not let anyone see the radar..thats all i need is to let you walk back to my car and get hit by a passing motorist driving with their head up their butt...can you say lawsuit...not good!!...just my 2 cents, not worth too much

Waht i really want is a device that i can have in my car that records everything, Speed, G' forces, accelleration, deceleraton, all that stuff so that if i do get pulled over i can have electronic evidence if i were or not speeding.

When i do speed i am happy to pay my cost associated with it when ticketed. but.... when i am not speeding there is no way to dispute it and that is what infuriates me.

I have one question for all the officers on here...

Do you know of a RADAR/Laser system that is not detected by a detector?

I'm pretty sure it was just before the 65 zone. When I  turned around to find him, I sasw the 65 mph speed zone about 100 yards ahead of me. As for who wrote the ticket, I can't tell by his signature on the ticket. All I can tell you is it was a black man, 50ish and was a state trooper. The guy I spoke with about finding the trooper that wrote the ticket was a white man, late 30's to early 40's. Before anyone jumps on the black/white thing, I mean absolutely nothing racist by those comments. It's just the only way I know of describing them.

Most lazers are not dectected.. Some will tell you that they  are, but when used correctly the officer will not be detected.  I work in a real weathy town. Majority of the houses are million dollars homes plus.  Kids drive around in hundred thousand dollar cars and they complain all the time how the expensice radar/lazer detectors dont work.

Now radars are detected. Most people think the lazer detector is working correctly when actually its picking up the radar thats been left on by the officer.  Remember if an officer uses a lazer then he can pin  point your vehicle upto a mile away.  at one mile, the lazer beam is only 1 square inch. Thats why  traffic units only use lazers.  So that way there is no doubt the person they  stopped is the person speeding.  When using a Radar, it normally picks up the  biggest vehicle first then may pick up the faster moving vehicle.
