No one has to worry if the 850cc's are legit because it's gonna take all of that to kick out 70 horsepower. And if a 820 is kickin that out (assuming this would be the actual cc's if they were lying), goodbye Rotax fame, hello Weber!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN ?

I'm just saying that Polaris is not lying on the cc's and if they were, then 70 horses is impressive out of anything lower than 850cc's.

Here's a picture of the inside, with the stock 14" rim.  With about 2" wheel spacers and the right 12" rim you might be able to get it to work, but it's still gonna be tight.  It will be easier on the 850 because the 850 has smaller calipers.

big_T, do you have any pictures of the A-Arm clearance?  Those calipers look as if they can be shaved down quite a bit, if necessary...

Kinda difficult to see the true clearance though.
As for shaving down the caliper, I'd be very careful about doing that, the caliper is not something to mess with.

Caliper shaving has been done for years on all types of automotive applications...nothing too scary about it here.  The structural integrity of that part of the caliper isn't really even that much of a concern, considering that the primary force is supported behind the cut and also by the rotor....

From those pictures, it appears highly unlikely that there will be any relatively simply way to make a 12" wheel work...

I'm thinking it's going to take about a 2" spacer to make it work.

That part of the caliper is the bridge, which takes all of the clamp load of the caliper.  It takes about 2100 lbs of force through the bridge.  You can shave some because it's engineered with a factor of safety, but that's still one of the more critical areas of the caliper housing.
All torque takeout is done through the bracket though.

Do we know the bolt pattern? Is there any aftermarket wheels for this already available? If it's in the specs, I apologize, but I didn't see anything.

it's a 4/156 bolt pattern, like the old style.  The different thing is it uses M10 studs rather than 3/8, so you'll need new lugnuts.  The good news is this is the size of lugnut most japanese bikes run.

it rides and steers better than any other bike I've been on.  The effort on steering feels more like a spmn90 than a full size machine.  It steers much easier and smoother than the grizzly.

As for power, I'm not a big power guy personally.  Mine is a 500 and it has enough power for me so I'm not a great judge of power.  I rarely even try to pick the front wheels off the ground because I like having 4 wheels firmly on the ground.

However, on the 550 I can pull the wheels off the ground from a standstill with my fat butt on the seat and basically no effort.  The 850 is in the same frame, but with that much more power.

As for comparison between the 850 and 800, here's what I know.  As Polaris is taking machines around to introduce it and let the public ride them, they don't even bring 850's around because they have so much power that they are very afraid people will hurt themselves on the easiest track.  They will let people drive the 800 though, at least in some places.  You WILL notice the power difference, and the first time you hit the throttle expecting the same reaction as the 800 you will be surprised, and possibly a little scared at first.
I also know that it scares me a little bit.

One difference with the Polaris sytem is that it's speed sensitive.  As your speed increases it becomes less sensitive, so it's not as twitchy at higher speeds.

I talked with Big T and he has not rode the power steering models yet. I do not think they have even sent any out for dealers to demo. I am pretty sure the power steering models will not be seen until late Dec and into Jan.

No, he does not work for Polaris.
