Well, i have had the chance to drive the 700 Mud Pro and I can tell you a Canned Ham 650 aint going to be much faster, the mud pro in short distances is just as fast as a 1000 TRV which IMO is impressive for a 700 with 28" tires. Another thing to take into account is a mud pro can accomidate 30" tires stock without rubbing and with a 2" Lift it can accomidate some 31's or 32's, and to do that on a Canned Ham you will need a 7" lift so there is 3k there, then keeping up with blown belts well that can be lots... Compare this to a mud pro and roughy $500 for 2" lift and axle spacers... Do the math the AC is the most logical quad especially knowing that the price is not that much more for the equiptment it has and the BLATENT fact that the ECU is remaped for snorkles, which the Canned ham is not remaped, that alone can be a nightmare. This is my 2 cents.
Thats what i stated already the you just cant beat a cat in mudd wise you cant im sorry thats just how it is lol and what bustedknuckles said my cat did about 55 56 on the road with my 29.5s and i thought that was fast enough i caught up to cars and pasted thme on my fat cat lol and i also love the pic of you hitting the mudhole wile your pulling the can am LMAO good one for sure .

this is like saying I beat a built brute with a 800 bb kit  on a 650 h1 . the thing will not compare in the power department with a canam . and its not bashing its fact sence when does a ecu adjustment add 14 horse power and shave off 40 lbs.

power  canam and many other choices it is not about getting through the mud it is about how much mud you roost back in your budies faces on the way through

BUt the AC only can do good in the "slow muddy trails".  LMAO ever watched one of those races,  not slow at all quite the opposite..

that is what the Arctic Cat was built for.. hard core nasty stuff.

I don't get why no one thinks that the mud pro will accelerate with the can am. you are going form 3.1 stock gears to 4.0 which is a huge reduction. Yes, it has to lose some potential top end (so it won't go faster than 65 to 70, big whoop), but the acceleration is going to be rediculous. A friend of mine works at a local dealer, went to the AC dealer show up in Minnesota a few months ago and got to ride all the new stuff,....prowler 1000, mud pro, 550, etc. He said that the mud pro was insane. Can't wait to ride one myself

OK this is just too much fun.

Note: I am not bashing or saying that the can am's are not fast or dominating the mud racing series, but don't think you can cut down AC and say they are only good for slow mud riding and not get some response.

Arctic Cat Wins First Ever UTV Championship

(10/02/2007)

Arctic Cat Wins First Ever WPSA UTV Championship Arctic Cat Prowler XT- The Racers Side x Side Choice
Thief River Falls, MN - The 2007 World Powersports Association National UTV season is now in the books, and Team Arctic placed 2 Prowler teams in the top 4 spots. Kyle Fiebelkorn led the crew to bring home the first-ever Arctic Cat UTV championship aboard his Prowler XT.
Kyle remarked about his results, “I had a lot of fun in the Pro Supersport series. The Arctic Cat Prowler is a stout machine that really takes a pounding. Some of these jumps are monstrous, but with a little bit of tuning our Prowlers ran really strong and outpaced our competitors.”
Kyle’s SPI Racing teammate, Daryl Rath took fourth place honors and commented, “Our team worked really hard on these Prowlers, I look forward to racing them in the future.”
The championships and awards didn’t end for Arctic Cat in the UTV division. In the Quad Terrain Challenge, Jesse West won the Championship aboard his Arctic Cat 650H1, while his brother Josh took Pro Rookie of the Year honors. Bringing home Third place title was SPI Racing’s Rory Beckman.
“I couldn’t be much happier with how our season went,” said Arctic Cat Race Manager Ted Bettin. “The Team Arctic/Jack Links/SPI Racing Prowlers were quite fun to watch and pretty entertaining for the crowd. The SpeedWerx crew did a great job race tuning our 650H1 motor. The Prowler proved there’s a new performance player in town.”
So what’s next for Arctic Cat? Bettin says, “We learned a lot from the Pro SuperSport racing series. This is a rapidly growing market and Arctic Cat plans to expand its boundaries!”
