I bought a big gun for my 07 650i a few months before i sold the bike. Long story short big gun did have a large amount of front header pipes messed up, I was told I was the third one to report it. The bend in the front was hitting the steering stem when installed. Called up big gun and they had a new header to my door within two weeks after giving them my CC information to make sure the old header was sent back.

Ya apparently I got one of those bad header pipes.
But I'm gonna try to get it modified today, it won't take much and it will clear. All that was hitting on me was the nut on top of the sterring knucle, so gonna try to get the pipe crimped right there so that it can clear. Who knows!! I guess if it don't work I'll just be buying a new header pipe.

Well the pipe worked out. I brought it to work with me this morning and ran it up to a body shop. We put it in a vice and put a dent in the pipe right wher eit needed the clearance for the sterring knuckle. Took it home and bolted it and it worked. Cranked her up and SMILED!!!!! Man that thing sounds good. It sure has been a b****, but I suppose it will be worth it. I'll try to get a little sound clip of it tonight if I get a chance. Thanks for the input and help fellas.

Ya it probably isn't as good as it was righ tout of the box, but it didn't seem to hinde rit much, just on idle and rev in  the garage. I was worried about the samething, guy at the body shop that did it said he thought it would be fine. I guess we'll see. I don't have any pics but it's more of an oval concave into the pipe, so it's not like a deep jolt down into the pipe. I think since it is a gradual curve it should be fine.

It wouldn't hurt to contact the company and see if you could get a good one. They know they had a problem. But if it works for ya go ahead. I just want to get my money's worth and having to "dent" a new exhaust so it will go on isn't right. You do have a lot of man hours, sweat, and tears into that thing now though. LOL

Well I sent an email to them this morning bright and early and havn't heard back. But I am going to call tomorrow if I havn't heard anything. The only problem is I bought it off ebay, for what I thought was a steal. The guy had several of them, so I'm thinking he got them cheap and may have even known they were bad pipes, so I'm trying to track him down as well. Trust me, I would mush rather have a good pipe, but I think the best I will get is to send my whole package back to the guy from ebay and he refund me, then buy a new system straight from big gun for about $250 more dollars. Oh well, we'll see.

Ya, but you know, sometimes it doesn't matter how many times you get kicked in the ***, you still make the same mistake over again. I knew it seemed to good to be true, but I just hoped it would work out.
So, I guess you live and TRY to learn. lol
I showed it to a gu yat a muffler shop and he didn't think it would hurt the flow, he said you won't even be able to tell. So we'll see.

Thanks man
Alex

Ya man I appreciate it. What little bit I have heard of this I like. I hadn't gotten on it yet, but I'm ready to get home so I can.  Just hope it holds up and doesn't get weak b/c of what I had to do. I guess I could have waited and sent it back and all that **** but I'm just not that kind of guy.
Anyways, hope it works out and if it don't oh well, it won't be the last time.

Alex
