I would like to run bigger, but I can't bog it down that bad... not to mention how do these yami axels hold up to the bigger tires with just a 2" lift?

Dad has a Rhino and 27's is what he has and loves it. I do agree the extra 1/2inch isn't worth it.

I got 27's on the grizz and will get stuck and he'll drive through and not even spin a tire

Yeah i have a 686 rhino with a 4inch ape lift and 30inch XXL's, Cluch kit, pipe, jetkit, cdi, and it still cant turn them tires. Seriously thing about smaller tires. I have even burt out the internal wet clutch once already. Or maybe i need more power?

Yeah my prowler will spin the piss out of a 30" mudzillas. But I can already tell the rhino doesnt have the low end torque my prowler has.

I put my 28" laws on my 660 rhino yesterday. 9.5 and 12.5. Pulled fine with cdi and clutch kit. got 2" spacers and honda rims on right now too. Ran fine in 2wd in mud/water holes. Have yet to try thick mud though.

They do have different gear ratios, but they are not interchangeable.  Some other folks looked into it and I dont know what the difference was, but it wasnt doable.  best thing is the 08 with better gearing in revers, low and high......or a Rotax swap which has VERY LOW low range and reverse, and a nice high range.
