He is right....no need for 2 inch just use 1.5 and yea more than likely if you are using a K&N air filter you will need to jet

Hey Kyle,
If you run a 2" pipe, it just means that the engine has to work less to draw in air.  Although a 2" pipe is overkill, it won't hurt anything.

Like Ed said it's just not needed because the 400 can only draw so much useful air due to it's displacement.  It would look cool, but that's about it.

I think 2" looks the best IMO and the added airflow potential is only a good thing. I have a full 2" snorkel on my Wolvy and with either a 160 or 170 jet it was still a little lean, and I got a nice little power increase with it! If you go with a 2" setup then for where the pipe goes under the front fender and then turns up to come out a hole I *think* a 2"ID 90* PVC Conduit elbow is a perfect fit, its been a while since I looked though. That would help airflow quite a bit because it is one piece and has a much longer radius bend so the air should flow much smoother and easier.

man ill tell u how i done mine got to a home depot or something buy u the thick flex hose.. but use pipe fittings when u come from the air box to the flex hose.. buy u some ich and a quarter pipe and run it from one of the fitting into the flex hose about 6in's and then put two hose clamps on it .. make sure when u put the flex hose on iit u butt it up to the 90 or what ever fiitn u use ... and dont listen to people that tell u too use grease to cell ur air box off with... USE SILICONE...and let it dry good cause if u ride in alot of water like me that grease just keep the water out..

because they think it will give them more even though it really will not......use a 1.5 trust me!!! And go with a dynojet kit only for the needle though cause the jets you will get will not be big enough when you run a K&N and a HMF pipe or whatever pipe your putting on....I am using a 125 main jet
