I don't think anything should come out.  Your wet clutches are behind there, so just becareful nothing hits the floor. But as for anything tiny. No. Also take care not to drop the one way bearing. If I remember right mine came out with the housing.

Here is a crappy pic from my phone that I had.  That is what is behind there.

ok i'm working on my bike right now and i tried something before draining oil and pulling things apart, with the clutch/belt/housing off and just the 2 shafts sticking out i turned on my bike and put it in gear letting only the shaft off the engine turn and there was no noise. i can turn the tranny shaft both clockwise and counterclockwise by hand and i can roll it back and forth and no noise is made.

Thats because there  is no bind on the tranny this way. Go ahead and drain the oil and pull the one way bearing. The gaskets do not always tear up. I have had more gaskets come out OK than tear. In any case if it is the one way bearing you will have to order it and can order the gasket then.
Be sure and look at the one way bearing closely. You will see how it allows the bearing to spin only one way. If one of the bearing parts is on backwards or upside down it will cause what you described. If one is the the bearing is bad cause if it did it once it will do it again.
Check that and report back.

mine failed as well. the dealer is covering it though.    when they pulled it down i had a broke motor mount(alowing the engine to jump).   broke both case halves and smoked the crank from lack of oil.
