I know 007BF knows clutching because I've been reading his posts for some time, but that doesn't excuse his behavior to all of us today because he has good knowledge. Heck, I'm a doctor and when my patients think they know more than me and try to diagnose themselves, I still treat them with the upmost respect and listen to their opinions. There will be no glory for me if I told them how much they didn't know compared to my years of medical training, bla bla bla... because it serves no purpose in their care and prognosis for their condition.

A doctor?????????????

Proctologist!!  LOL!!

We have so much learning to do with clutching and with the 800R powerband.  I just spend 2hrs try new setups and experimenting, maybe I need Engie to come take out the SWAG in my clutching!! (Scientific Wild A** Guess)

007BF,

do you cut your own weights?  i want to gain some top speed in low gear without sacrificing belt grab and low end pull.  first up is playing with different helix's, then i'll get into cutting new weights and playing with the springs.  anything you can recommend to stay away from or focus on?

I can add that clutching is a fine art and only a handful of people on here really understand it and have extreme knowledge of it. Heck, I work at a doo dealership and only have basic knowledge of it from a sledders point of view. What I can say is that I will willingly help any and all people if I can on any matter reguarding Can-Am trouble shooting tips.... But if and when I get some real killer clutch setups, I will NEVER share that info ever!. Clutching secrets are just that, secrets. It is the only thing separating people from winning, people that have a bottemless wallet that can afford every power add on and then some. But if their clutch set up is wrong, they can and will loose to the regular joe who has R & D on clutching.

Very well put.  Thank you for acknowledging that!  I don't think everyone understands that where there is competition, there will be secrets...

Yes, I am an ophthalmologist. So once I get the science in can am clutching, you better believe I'll master it because physics is my strong point. And I'll have secrets of my own someday.  I just started getting serious in this atv hobby but my learning curve is a little on the quick side.

The learning curve is best supplemented/sped along with the right equipment and knowing how to use it.  Check out an Lm1+Lma3 wideband02/datalogger... This will give you the ability to read anything you want to know about your quad's electrical/electronics .  The accelerometer feature is pretty sweet as well.  It offers a scientific "proof" of data that is otherwise strictly opinion-based...
