If I chained the back end of it to a tree you think I could do a 4 wheel drive burnout? Now that would be sweet.

Knowing your luck u would pull the tree out of the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!

New video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK0GvjvX0_g&fmt=18
Well after continued testing my review of the 09 to the 07 is they are the same. Out of the hole , mid , and top at the 500' all results are almost dead even. At the end of the video my one buddy hops on the X and he is 50 pounds lighter and its still the same. I guess with 700 pound machine 50 pounds don't help that much and he would spin even more out of the hole which really hurt him.
You have to watch in Standard Quality in order to see the animations

So what is your conclusion of the 800R? Worth it for new can am owner but maybe not for an existing one wanting to upgrade?

If you already own one I wouldn't buy a new one thinking its going to be any faster. I bought my new 09 X because my wife doesn't like to ride the Artic Cat anymore being its all tipsy compared to a Can Am. She rode my 07 Renegade around and she fell in love it.  I almost bought a 08 last year just because it was black and black is my favorite color. In 07  they didn't make the X's and they only had the one color yellow.

Great video, very informative. I like how you showed the setups first and kept us informed on the riders and weights. Really helps weed out a lot of the questions that normally come up on these videos.

The video was extremely clear, informative, explained, and well filmed. My question is now, could there be any variable not mentioned that could have skewed the results that way? Terrain chosen, etc.

The X would have had an ever so slight disadvantage in weight, mainly in rotating mass,  the simulated bead lock rims would be slightly heavier than the stock non X rims, then in sprung weight there is an extra skid plate I think the X has , and hand guards, still not likley a real big deal, likely not worth mentioning.

Still way too many variables when racing on short cut grass like that, especially if the grass had much moisture within the blades.  The tire pressure becomes a huge factor.  The bike with less tire pressure will surely have an advantage with more traction.  I noticed the 800R pulled to the left on a few runs, that could have been from unequal air pressure in the rears.

The reaction time of the two riders looked pretty equal.  Good driving on their parts.

The vids are great but I really think you need to try to race on asphalt to eliminate some of the traction variables.  Even if one bike is stronger than the other, slippage at the tires makes takes alot of the power advantage away.

I was really impressed when we were running Dawaynes 800R against the two other 07 Renegade X's.  Our races were on pavement and the only problem was keeping the front down on the clutched 07.

Good deal..Well at they are at a dead heat....I was starting to think the 09 was all out slower.... The extra horses in the 09 can be woke up one way or the other ...with the right mods...I feel the 09 will walk the dog...

Just before the races I checked and aired all tires. Rear 6 PSI and fronts 5 PSI. Its been very dry here lately so the dirt/grass was same moisture etc.
All 3 of us have been riding since we were 5 to 8 years old. We all grew up together and we use to race HS and Motor Cross back in our younger days.
I tried to do everything to make it as equal as possible,, thats including not allowing the use of the front brake on the X considering the 07 doesn't have a front brake. Also I choose those 2 guys from all my friends just for the weight factor. Same weight as me and then someone 50 pounds lighter.

We are going to do a asphalt run soon,, I would like to have 2 cameras going for that one

The skill, knowledge, and variables are being thought out well. Good job Ohio. After the asphalt run, there will be no more questions or concern on the stock forms.
