Where exactly is the washrack? Ive been all over but when everyone talks about a certian places like the skinny dippin hole and figure 8 and call theese places by name I don't have a clue.

under the bridge(hwy 90) is figure 8 incase you didnt know also,

i do agree lets start going to the wash rack ,i remember having parties burning HUGE logs that lasted for weeks down there and just havin a blast, now its like you roll down there and theres only like 2 other bikes out there, if you ride crosby then you should know the trail to the wash rack, ive seen many people trying to get there through the torture chamber but never made it to the wash rack, im gonna try to make it this weekend if i do its gonna be sat NIGHT.its hot as outside !!!

I haven't been out there in while either, but ya'll are all right about the crowd that builds up out there.  Its a darn shame too, because in my opinion its one of the best places to ride with a combination of mud and water.

I do have another place about 10 min from crosby we can ride. There is probably as much land as crosby, but there is an issue of parking. It's all flood control land. If any of you guys live in the area of John Ralston rd and Garrett rd and have a place to park let me know. I used to live over there and there are some very nice trails that I would like to ride again. The trails are along greens bayou and back up to the 8th mile drag stip on N. lake Houston Parkway. There is lots and I do means lots of mud out there. Also alot of tecnichal hill climbs and wild crossings with old wooden bridges. The trails also run in to and old sand pit off of tidwell rd.

Can't you just park at the sand pit?  I went snooping around out there a few months ago and found the sand pit on Tidwell.  Or maybe just park at Rio Bravo.......you can get out behind the Raceway....I did it on my KX250.

I had worked out a deal with the old man at rio to park there and ride, but the last time I went there he said some one had bought the property and we couldn't park there any more. Also last time we rode out there  we went to the sand pit and there was some guys stripping a car in there. I am gonna go by Rio on friday and see whats going on out there. I will be sure and let you whats up. The trails I'm talking about go from behind Rio all the way too the sand pit on both sides of the bayou. I grew up out there and been riding those trails for about 15 years.

Yeah....that sandpit on Tidwell was scary.....Let me know what you come up with.....I don't know why the new owner @ Rio wouldn't let us park there......I will even pay for admission.  By the way, is there anywhere to ride in Huffman?  We got some family out there......you probably know them, the Crews.

So, is there a hardpack trail back to the washrack?  Cause if there isnt one and the only trails require a real bike then i say heck ya, lets start going back there.. It used to be one of the main spots anyway a year or so ago.  Our only disadvantage is with 4-6 of them on a bike, they could probably just lift their quads over the mud to go back there.  We can only hope they don't think of it.  And I am sure there won't be alot of triangle boys because their audience won't be big enough at the wash rack, so i bet they will stay at the lakes. (faucit lake) or whatever they call it these days.  saturday we are definately making our way back there. Should be fun!!!!

I wouldn't mind going back to the washrack, heard of it a lot, never been there. Could a Teryx with only 26's make it?

why you gotta bash on us now??? I feel the same way as most of you do about all the "people" out there. we came across figure 8 a couple of weekends ago and you could not even pull up out of the water. I finally wedged betweentwo of them and pushed. they just kinda gave me a look and moved their bikes. I am all for going to the washrack for the night, it will just be tough to get back after all the beverages

There is a couple ways to get back there if I remember right.  Through the skinny dip, the trail that goes around the skinny dip and through rollover back by that road that is blocked off or that you can't go on.  I have to imagine that the teryx would make it one of those ways.  Its been about a couple months since I've been out there so I could be wrong.

I havent been the back way to the washracks in a while  ( the trials just north of Megasand) but I hear its bad.  Going around the Skinny diping hole isnt to bad you just have to know wich holes to hit and wich to avoid.

I've went to the Washracks through the skinny dip hole before but It was DEEEEEEEP!!  The water has been low lately so I bet it wouldnt be to bad now.

We took several bikes, 2 prowlers, and a rzr around the skinny dipping hole a while back. wasn't too bad.

Around the skinny dip is the easiest trail to the washracks. The back trail is nearly impassable without a winch. But it can be done.

Got tired of not being able to comment so I finally joined. I have lived in Highlands for 10 years and rode at Crosby untill about 2 years ago. I recently bit the bullet and took my two boys up there on a weekday when i was on vacation. After 1 1/2 months I am still in shock. I could not believe my eyes, there was trash everwhere. What the ****? When I went, I would pack out what I brought in. I would like to start riding on a regular basis again but with all the trash and no border patrol, the only other option is driving to the deerlease (6K acres 1.5 hour drive) and spending the night in my camper. I would like to meet some new people and have some fun. I am 36 w/ a Honda 500 28" Outlaws, cooler full of (?).

We need to find someone with a bulk load of boarder patrol shirts and all of us buy them and take em out one weekend.  It would be worth it to see all their faces.

i went last weekend and had a blast. see, i dont let the messican crows bother me. i dont go to mel's anymore and i hardly even drive thru there unless i wanna go play with jay in the swamps lol.  now their music pisses me off, but i feel much better when they try to follow me in the water and loose there lunch.

as far as them being in the masses and being in the way and all that i say hey, just stay out in the deep deep water and they can only watch, not follow. when i go to the wash rack i hardly take the hard pack anyways, we turn off and hit that little creek that feeds into the back of the lakes. its pretty loose on bottom unless you know where to go.  we have also been spending a lot of time back past the island behind the skinny dip.

the "8" is pretty much a joke latley and i only go there if i twisted off in a good hole nearby and need to wash off. i will go swim there if the music being played there is in english.

Alan, how are the 31's treating you?
Matt, when you coming out again brother? call me

See yall saturday/ saturday night! i will be somwhere in the water ;)

If a Teryx on 26s can make it, than i should be fine.

Which is the best way to go?Around the skinny dip or taking that trail that gets you onto that island in the middle of the skinny dip?
