I guess I need to rephrase the question.

What has to done to the clutch, sheeves, spider, primary, secondary, belt, bevel gears, diffs, etc., etc., etc., in order to have an 08 BF 750 w/Muzzy pipe, PCIII, snorkels and 2" lift spin huge 30" or larger, very heavy, deep lugged tires through many mud bogs full of sticky, sloppy, crud, including using reverse to back out of the occassional hole as needed, without burning up belts?

Gear reduction thats the only answer for the reverse part!!! Brute's have too high of a reverse gear or (i know it sucks but) if you stop going forward get someone to pull you out. From my learing its the only way around!!!

LOL that reminds me of when i was down in this creek one time with a sandy bottom and i was in 2wd and i was just creapin along and all of a sudden i cam to a sudden halt.I was like ****.so i backed up and tried to go again and it went a little ways and then stopped again, like it felt like something was literally holding my tires.i was hitin the gas (with factory tires) and i heard the belt squel just like half a second and i let off the gas.i put it in 4wd and was like surely it will pull out now, nope same thing, come to find out there was a powerline that had been cut down and had wrapped around my left rear tire,a arms and all that good stuff and it wasnt giving. It took forever to get that stuff untangled.Wont ever forget that one lol you should have seen the look on my face when the belt made that little squel with them factory tires lol i was like you have got to be kidding me lol

Don't think copiah will be as much fun once it starts cooling off... Its fun because right now its so hot and there is plenty of fresh creek water. :)

I think i'm going to go insane the next time someone recommends a maroon primary spring for belt grip... Explain to me why a higher stall primary spring HELPS belt grip.

Belt doesn't spin at idle... This same belt is attached to 31" tires caked in gumbo mud... You have a clutch that will try and grab that said belt what do you think will cause less slip? One spinning at 3000 RPMs or one spinning at 1200rpms? To put that in better terms... that belt has to catch up to 3000 rpms or 1200rpms... I mean really??

I think i'm going to go insane the next time someone recommends a maroon primary spring for belt grip... Explain to me why a higher stall primary spring HELPS belt grip.

Belt doesn't spin at idle... This same belt is attached to 31" tires caked in gumbo mud... You have a clutch that will try and grab that said belt what do you think will cause less slip? One spinning at 3000 RPMs or one spinning at 1200rpms? To put that in better terms... that belt has to catch up to 3000 rpms or 1200rpms... I mean really??

very good point! /\/\/\
