The idea of cutting lugs was performed on the Tri-Claws as well. I don't think the pattern on the Swamplites really allows for much improvement in the mud since they don't have much of a "paddle" design in the first place. IMO they have more of an all-terrain design.

how about if you cut staggered lugs off instead of the ones straight across from each other?
...and cut the "wing" off of the center lug on each side/row where you left the lug...like this...

just buy some new tires...if you cut every other lug out they are gona be bald in a month. my dad has had 26's on his foreman 450 for about a year, they have never seen pavement and are less than half tread. where ive had my vamps for 3 years and have rode alot of pavement and they still have 80-90% tread left.

How were the Tri Claws cut I was breifly contemplating that this weekend. I was thinking about how they would do if you cut the middle of the three lugs out so only the really short ones and the really long ones were left.

Cutting tires is a great way of making good tires better, I have never done it yet but it works. A guy that I help a lot with his bogger Bronco has cut Boggers on the back and they are awesome! You ain't got to be a monster truck driver to get benefits from it. It does kinda make the tires very illeagal for the road but hey so is my gutted cat lol. What the cops don't know won't hurt me! It really does work though in any size tire, if you do it right.

This is the only way I would cut them in order to keep the integrity of the lugs. You get the idea, do the same alla round and to the other side lugs. This would allow greater spacing between the lugs yet keeping the origonal desgin in order to have them clean out better. I grooved my friend's super swampers with a tire groover. He's got a rock rig, and does extremely well.
