Part of the reason I am looking at moving to the new 850 Polaris is because of the better chance to get sponsored. Everything I have heard of Kawi on sponsorship for mudding was not good. Love my 650 and was looking at a Brute but now going to make a switch, more than likely, to Polaris.

The 09 Teyrx will be released after the dealer meeting in september.  I talked to the dealer the other day and she said the dealer meeting is in late september and they should be released after that and she also said they will be EFI.

there is already a cc cap!!! at least in mn. i got this out of the dnr book.
The term off-highway vehicle (OHV) is used to describe all-terrain vehicles, off-highway motorcycles, and off-road vehicles.
All-terrain vehicles (ATVs)
Class 1 ATVs are motorized flotation-tired vehicles with at least three but no more than six low pressure tires that have an engine displacement of less than 800 cubic centimeters and total dry weight of less than 900 pounds. Class 2 ATVs are motorized flotation-tired vehicles with at least three but no more than six low pressure tires that have an engine displacement of less than 800 cubic centimeters and total dry weight of 900 to 1,500 pounds.

This reg is being changed as we speak.

Unless you ride a lot of different elevations i see no reason for that to be a deal breaker by any means... Even saves you money. :)

It all comes down to the Voluntary Standard that Kawasaki,Suzuki,Yamaha & Honda all agreed to, that the weight limit on any ATV would not exceed 606#'s dry. Once this expires, which isn't too far off, then you will see an answer from Kawasaki.
I've been looking in the ANSI/SVIA 1-2001 but haven't found the statement yet on this Weight limit, found a bunch of other interesting ATV issues. Maybe this ansi/svia isn't where I need to be looking but it sure is a long Document to read thru.
The CC max hasbeen lifted, as it is now 1000cc Max for a ATV, don't recall what the weight max is set at.
AC, Polaris & Can-Am never agreed to the weight limit, that is why their ATVs weigh as much as they do.
A Brute Force 900 or 950 will weigh in much more than the present BF750 as a 80+hp requires a real beefed up frame & drive line.

I finished scanning all of the pages in the SVIA 1-2001 & found nothing on the weight issue But I did find it in the ANSI/SVIA 1-1990, which was renewed in 2000 for the ansi/svia 1-2001.
I saw somewhere awhile back, that the ANSI/SVIA 1-2001 is up for renewal in 2010 & Kawasaki is bailing out of the Voluntary Standard Weight limits/CC's. Can any one comfirm this?
