Ok so the are the Kodiak weights lighter than the Grizzly 700 weights? Is that what causes the bike to have a higher stall and then the secondary spring figuratively lowers the gear ration once you are moving?

If that is the case and all (8) Kodiak 400 weights are too light and it causes too much stall than could you use (4) Kodiak 400's and then maybe (4) Grizzly 660 weights? That is if they are lighter (or heavier, whichever direction the weights go). Does anyone know the weights of all the different weights from different machines?

Am I right with my thoughts on this?

it's is not so much of a stall more like the clutch will wind out higher and quicker. most of the stall is going to be in the wet clutch springs.

I've ran most weight combos...

None of them compared to the HL Extreme clutch kit I put in this 700 with 31's. That with a Dyna CDI and you're good to go.

OK stock weight for a grizzly 700 is 168.0 grams. 8- 450 weights are 112.0 grams(too extreme) I'm running 4-660 weights and 4-450 weights @ 128.4 good combo for 29.5 outlaws 10's and 12".

If by hard conditions, you mean nasty mud, then you'd better find time to shift.  There is no configuration that will help "High" in the mud, because that's not what "High" is for.  "Low" is for mud, hill climbing, etc and "High" is for trail riding.

What is the part number for the 660 weights?

So......
Stock 700 weights weigh 21 grams each
Stock 660 weights weigh 18.1 grams each
Stock 450/400 weights weigh 14 grams each

That is off of your measurements

That sounds about what I want and then a different secondary spring and I think I would be cookin' with fire! I have 29.5x10s (F) and 29.5x12 (R) on the way and I am considering very VERY hard about trading the 10's for 12's. I fell in love with the 12" all around look with my Mud B's

What secondary spring would be recomended?

This a good thread you's guys lol

i set my bike up for trail riding and mud, lots of mud. i am running the 4 stock weights and 4 kodiak weights with the purple epi spring. i love it but i want a little mor grunt. so i am about to change to the white epi spring. then i will be playing with different weight combos. i am running 12s in rear and 10s in front and love them. i thought about getting into mud bogging and raced a little, but let;s face it for the class we are in we just don't have what it takes to dominate. so this is why i set my bike up to dominate on the trails and be the recovery bike for those that can take us in the bog. it is a good feeling pulling the number one race bike out of the mud.

Let us know how that white spring works?  I'll wait to see if I get either the purple or white spring.

So what do the purple and white springs change? Which one is supposed to give more low-end? I couldn't care less about top speed, I very rarely go over 30mph...

i know that the purple spring gives a small amount of stall, not very noticable, but it is very strong. low gear at around 5 to 10 mph goosing it in low will bring the tires of the ground. in high, i can punch the throttle and bring the tires off the ground. I love the purple spring. i just think that the white spring will bring much more torque in the bottom end. i think that the white spring is what they sell in the extreme kit. i might ne wrong. i know that i don't want to change out the wet springs just because it is more of a headache than it is worth. i just want maximum power to the ground. some one tell me if i'm wrong??? tell me what you think.

your yellow (gold) spring already has a higher load rae than the purple spring. so i think that if you were to go to the purple you would just be taking a step backwards. i think you should try playing around with the different weight combos first.

i know that the purple spring gives a small amount of stall, not very noticable, but it is very strong. low gear at around 5 to 10 mph goosing it in low will bring the tires of the ground. in high, i can punch the throttle and bring the tires off the ground.

So the White spring would be more of what I am looking for? It should provide more low-end than the purple?

When I go to pick up my Grizz from the dealership I am going to order (4) 450 weights and (4) 660 weights, I just hope that is something they carry instock...

Not real sure that the white spring is what you want. i think that if your riding style is mostly mud, then the white spring should be the way to go. your dealer more than likely will not have the weights in stock, but they can order them and have them there in no time.
