Is Honda going to pull a "diff lock" feature like the old Mules/Rangers, when it would only lock the rear and still leave the front open differential?

Good point! I feel the Big Red will be a capable machine once the aftermarket catches on. Isn't that what modifying is all about? It's power may never be comparable to that of the rzr, but it should be enough for a majority of the appropriate crowd. All I ever hear in the Honda forum anymore is how Honda is underpowered, 3 wheel drive, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! I suggest you buy a bike for your specific needs. I have a bike for every aspect of the riding I do. Not trying to step on anyones toes, just my humble opinion.

Then you would not be catagorized as the appropriate crowd. Just because it will not be capable of performing the task you expect out of a piece of equipment, doesn't mean it won't be more than adequate for others.

Also, looking in you sig shows you have a Suzuki street bike. Why didn't you buy a Honda? Possibly didn't suit your needs out of a motorcycle?

Idk, I think with a gear reduction and a big bore kit it would move a little better than you give it credit.

DANG!! If that info is trustworthy, we just might get somethings we want outta this thing! A Rincon tranny that will only do 38mph, most be geared pretty dang low! And I think we can all assume it will have IRS, and with the info of it having Diff Lock, I just might own one.

"This is the multi-purpose utility vehicle you've been waiting for. The first multi-purpose utility vehicle built by Honda. We call it the 2009 Big Red™ – you're just going to call it the best multi-purpose ever. Powered by a 675cc fuel-injected engine that links up with a smooth-shifting automatic transmission, it can accommodate all your off-road utility needs. Front and rear independent double-wishbone suspension for a sure-footed, comfortable ride.  Three selectable drive modes, for traction in virtually every situation.  Plus, a tough dump bed and a receiver style hitch for all the chores you or your "boss" can dream up."

Big Red specs...

Engine Type: 675cc liquid-cooled OHV semi-dry-sump longitudinally mounted single-cylinder four-stroke

Transmission: Three-speed automatic with hydraulic torque converter, reverse, and electronic controls

Driveline: Direct front and rear drive-shafts with torque-sensitive front differential

Front Suspenion: Independent double-wishbone; 5.9-inch travel

Rear Suspension: Independent double-wishbone; 7.1-inch travel

Width: 64.0 inches

Height: 76.9 inches

Weight: 1431 pounds

Ground Clearence: 10.3 inches

It might have REAR DIFF LOCK, but it sure as heck doesn't have FRONT DIFF LOCK.

Knowing Honda, thats probably exactly right! I just saw the "locking diff"  and was thinking about the front.
