My wife and I took the kids on a Carnival Cruise two years ago. I would say it was a pretty good trip besides having to pay for the beer tab...the staff loved playing with the kids. The cleaning staff would come and pick my son up and take him up and down the halls in the carts. They would bring my daughter flowers in the morning. During our formal dinner our waiter took my son with him around the restraunt with the rest of the staff to sing and dance. They have a day care on board that will watch the kids during the day and certain hours of the night to allow the adults time to do whatever. Just be aware the water they pump into the pools is straight out of the sea and it's rather cold...the next cruise i'm going on is Alaska, i would much rather go to mexico every year than be on a cruise but we still enjoyed ourselves.

The wife and I have been on both Princess Cruise Line and Carnival.  Both were 5 day cruises and we had a blast both times.  We were on the Carnival Conquest for the last one and it is more of a party boat.  It was a lot more laid back and fun.  Take advantage of the drink of the day and keep the cup, it's cheaper for a refill.  The drink cards are a plus too.  You can save money on tours when you get to your destination, but if you have to "taxi" to shore on small boats the folks that booked tours on the boat get off first.

We got a balcony room and loved it.  The "sea days" were cool just sitting on the balcony.  Of course we also went to the pool area for party time.  Keep up with your charges daily, it do add up.

Party on dude, we loved it!

I went on the one out of new orleans that went to jam. camen island. and mexico when i was 19 and my wife just bought the drinks for me. BEST THING, there is a nude deck on the ship, oh and it was during spring break, nice. And if you get a balcony room you have to DO IT up there. Watch out if you get off the ship couse there is 10 to 50 other ships that also go to these places. I do not like the way they do your bags though, they put them all in the middle of a room and you go get your, make sure you have a lime green suit case. you would not belive how many people had the same suit case as me..... have fun and the casino does pay out...

all you people saying the drinks are expensive but not live around here. you go to the casinos where most of the NICER clubs are here and the drinks are that price anyway. we are used to paying $5 -$8 for drinks so the cruise didn't bother me.

Also, it depends on what cruise you go on whether or not you have to dress up for dinner. 2 styles- formal dinners like Carnival and then Freestyle cruising like Norwegian. My next cruise will be a freestyle. Last one was Carnival and it was nice. i liked the dressing up to go eat dinner. it was great food. and the waiter/waitress was great. We had a group of 10 that went and they knew what we wanted to drink and appetizers every night. I think cruises are alot of fun and better than flying to an all inclusive resort imo

We went 2 years in a row. 1st time was our honeymoon and the 2nd was with friends. We went Royal Caribbean on the Splendor of the Seas. We had a blast both times. When I would start to feel sea sick I would just go to the bar and order a shot of tequila and a budweiser... Instant relief!!! lol

We went on the Carnival Holiday out of Mobile, AL in August and it sucked!! Stay away!! Save your money!! It was aweful!! It was built in 1985 and it has not had much up dates since then. We had previously went on the Carnival Fantasy out of New Orleans, LA last December and it was awesome!! That is what we were expecting again. Boy, were we sadly mistaken. We paid the same amount for both cruises but got jipped the second time. If you want a good cruise experience go on the Fantasy. If you want to waste money go on the Holiday. I can't begin to tell you the problems that we encountered. First, the public bathrooms the entire cruise smelt of urine and you know what!! The first day our commode in our cabin would not flush. It took them a while to fix it, so guess what our alternative bathroom was....you guessed it, the smelly public bathrooms. Even the food on the buffets were not the same as before. It was second rate. You might as well have eaten at a cafeteria. The food was about the same. The swimming pool was so small that there was no way 1400 plus people could swim in it. Plus it was crowded all of the time. We found out that the food eating in the main dining room for breakfast was not any better than eating in the buffet line. The food at lunch in the main dining area was o.k. The food in the main dining area at night time was better than the buffet line. It was crowded every where you went. The ship is not layed out well to handle the flow of traffic of people. The first day, you have to use the stairs every where that you go because of the lack of elevators. After the first day, the elevators are so slow that you might as well take the stairs. The ship made some kind of noise all of the time. There was no such thing as peaceful cruising. But thankfully, Cozumel made the aweful ship worth while. It was our second time to Cozumel had a blast both times. We went on the guided Mini Jeep (Rhino) tour. It was well worth the money. Would recommend it to anyone.

We went on the Fantasy and it was a blast well worth every penny for the trip. Cozumel was great. All the food was great. I think I ate 5 times a day. We've got about a $700 bar tab coming on the credit card. I'll pay it when it comes in. Over all I think I spent around 2 grand, so I don't think it was that bad. Going to start saving for my next cruise!

Raptor1, the toliet in our room would suck down a bowling ball.
