I use the eye bolts and turnbuckles and never had a problem. You just need to drill holes through some aluminum plates for support. If you need pics, be glad to send them. I also waterproofed it with a gasket so no muddy water in the beer ice..... Just a thought...

I use the 36" large black plastic zip ties from Lowe's or Home Depot... They work like a charm !! Like was mentioned before, just run them through you handles on the side of your ice chest, down through the racks and you don't have to mess with any straps to open your ice chest...

The mud and water ruins those ratchet straps! Put a back rest on it and mount the cooler behind it.

The upper mounting tabs will be replaced with eye bolts the next time I make it to Lowes.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/btsf250/ I made mine out of 1/2" schedule 40 steel pipe from Lowes for about $18.  I can bolt it to the front rack or the rear rack.  I just decided to keep on the front.  We ride wide open and the cooler or gas can has never came off.  Even turned it over on its side and still didn't loose it.

dont bother with mounting a whole box and everything, just rig it up with a couple of turnbuckles, you can gettem at any hardware store for a couple bucks apiece
