This is one bad machine. GM overdid them selves this time. Here it is the 2009 corvette ZR-1. 638 horsepower LS9 supercharged V8, ZR1 is capable of reaching OVER 200 mph. 6.2 Liter V8 with Eaton TVS Supercharger and intercooler produces 604 lb.-ft of torque. Massive Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes

They had outta give me one of them to "Test".  I'd let ya'll know what the MPG at 180 is.  [:D]

they had to have something to compete with the new nissan gtr. cause the little v6 in the gtr whoop up on that z06.

MPG should be around 30.  Im not joking either.  I read about it in Motor Trend.  The Corvettes now get about that.  My LS1 1998 camaro gets around 26-28.

I just smile everytime i read about the Zr-1 or the Z06.  U can take a 70k ZO6 and spank Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches all day for half and even a quarter of the price.  Stuff like this makes me proud of my country.[:'(]  Eat that Euros  lol.  So if the Z06 does that to them just think of what the ZR1 will do.  And Redgrizz was right.  That GTR was whooping everything and doing it with a 6 cylinder at that. Talk about Nissan doing their homework.  But moveover for the ZR1 haha.  And im just waiting for someone to chime in and say that nothing is faster than the Bugatti Veyron.....well no production car is.  But the Veyron isnt a production car and it costs around say ummm....a million friggin dollars. So that the tie breaker when it comes to which one is better.  The ZR1 is gonna cost about 100-120k.  Not bad considering it will totally obliterate pretty much any exotic car and still do it at a fraction of the cost.  Not even the Ferrari Enzo, Carrera GT or Murcielago can hang with that speed or money wise.  Oh i love it.  Great job GM.

I read in car and driver that the brakes are the same size (or the same brake set up as the Enzo)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord if thats true, God pity the person who has to pay to get them replaced.  But if he can afford the car im sure brakes wont be a prob.  But i bet that thingll stop on a dime.

Awesome . One thing chevy has made great advancements on the corvette.I heard someday they are gonna bring camaro back. with economy and gas situation who knows. My first car was 73 Camaro with 350 ,4 speed ,. Loved it and missed it.

how do these compare to a viper?  i dont know anything about sports cars.i just always thought the viper was the fastest american made car

The Zr1 would rape the viper, The viper only has 600 horsepower and 560 lbs of torque with a V-10 the zr1 has 638 hp with 604lb of tq. And you have to think about the weight diffrence. The Corvette is one of the most light sports car out there.
