BIG BEAR 08 -> electrical problems with prarie 360 (7/24/2008 8:11:58 AM)

there is a white wire that comes off of the positive battery connection and runs through a fuze and into the main harness. can anyone tell me where it goes from there? that wire has a short somewhere, which is causing the speedometer to do its own thing when i start it up, and i can start it with the push button because when i turn the key to on, the battery voltage goes down to zero. also, when its running, it sputters like when in reverse but not holding the override, but it does it at a higher rpm than in reverse and is erratic. also, i have the front actuator plug disconnected, ziplocked and ziptied because the front actuator is not on, and i also disconnected the two lights for the belt and 4wd. it happened right after my friend went into a pretty deep hole on a trail. so, can anyone tell me where that white wire goes or what could be causing this?

Sounds like limp mode to me.  BELT RESET INFO   Look into that and see what you come up with.

found out what the problem was. when my dad got a new battery for it, it was the wrong one. we got a new battery yesterday and the problem is fixed.

glad to hear you got it back running. Not sure how the wrong battery could have caused it unless it was a 6v or the amps were way off?!

i dont see how either since the bike, when running, is powered from the charging system and the overage goes back to the battery.
