Solitude -> My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/23/2008 9:19:42 PM)

I had a buddy bring over his 05' King Quad and asked me to snorkle it and bring the radiator up and make it mud ready so I did. He wanted it in the middle and I wanted to do one in the middle cause I might do mine soon. Well heres the pics to it. I still got to paint the radiator but everything is water tight. Had it about 3" from water going into the snorkle today on accident but rode it out and it did great. I think Im going to cut down the snorkles some also.  Just got to clean it up some. Tell me what you think.

Block off plate for the stock intake.

Thanks.. but for some reason I dont really like it.. I really think its the 90's up top. I dont like that style. I might go buy some more tomorrow and try out the look. Also once I get the radiator painted it will look much better.

heath42 -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/23/2008 11:10:45 PM)

Yea man, it takes some serious talent to do a job that clean!

Solitude -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/23/2008 11:20:38 PM)

Thanks man. Ive done so many snorkle jobs, but I wont posts pics. Countless H1's, Brutes, KQ's, Honda's, Yamahas, everything pretty much. If you or know anyone that needs one let me know. I got about $100 in this one. Its what I love to do.

You can see my red one in the background haha looks pretty big haha.

Also the radiator is on more of a angle then Id like but I didnt want to cut any of the front plastic since they didnt even have the radiator peice so I just made it all go up there.

rambrewster -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/23/2008 11:21:07 PM)

Solitude are you still running your airbox snorkel the same way as the tips section?
I'm getting ready to snorkel mine and was hoping you might have some helpful hints.  Thanks.

Solitude -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/23/2008 11:32:46 PM)

MudKing02 -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 7:24:11 AM)

It looks real sharp dude. Good job.

Does that epoxy have green sparkle flake in it?

brokeking -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 8:31:27 AM)

did you have to cut a big hole in the middle , cause im considering movin mine to the middle and have already cut my plastic 3 times for snorkels .

any ideas on how to hide the holes in plastic ? been usin stickers but they dont seem to last. ?

brokeking -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 8:34:52 AM)

BrokenKitty -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 8:39:13 AM)

Wow big sail in the front count lay it down more lol

brokeking -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 8:58:38 AM)

What kind of apoxy is that fiberglass , plastic weld ??
sorry i ask so many questions but i want mine this way and you got it down.

thanks chris

Freestyle -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 10:26:26 AM)

The hole in the fromt plastic's is the lil cover thing to the stock radiator!

Solitude -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 10:57:08 AM)

Its not apoxy, if just regualar Black Window and Door Type II Silicone. But I spit on my finger and rub it down to smooth it out and blend it all in really good.

I didnt cut any plastic on this snorkle for this one. I just took off that little radiator cover and brought everything up threw that.

Also the bolt are to hold that fitting in place. When you buy the Shop Vac Hose its a fitting in there.

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 11:35:03 AM)

I ran mine similar to solitudes but used a rubber adapter.  I'll post a pic up later when I get outta work.

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 11:40:26 AM)

Well, it took me two seconds to find.  I had this laying around the house in all of our Kart racing stuff.  its about $10 and its well worth every bit of it....if you wanna run abs/pvc instead of vac hose!  I used the one on the right!  I will post up the link to the site later...sorry  If u wanna get it and se how I installed it I am writing up my snorkel/lift post tonight so check back tomnight around 10 and hopefully i will be done with it by then

Solitude -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 11:42:16 AM)

Yea man that looks good. Is it plastic or rubber?

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 11:43:13 AM)

rubber .....extremely flexible

Solitude -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 11:44:29 AM)

Can 2" PVC fit inside it and then clamp it down?

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 2:59:49 PM)

2 " fits perfectly....just need a band clamp to hold her in!!..i'll get you some pics and stuff up later.  By the way Solitude...I sent you a pm, have u had a chance to look at it yet?  sent it Tues. night

#4 -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 4:31:55 PM)

Nice work Solitude.
I wish I lived by you so I could hang with you. I love doing this kind of work but there's no one around me that is serious enough to do mods like this. you can say I'm a big fish in a little pond. Ha Ha
I have fun working on my bike but I'm out of money LOL
By the way, I like the piece of diamond plate steel on the front rack. Nice touch[sm=fun_08.gif]

rambrewster -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 5:59:17 PM)

Unconquered*King where did you find that rubber fitting in your picture?
That looks to be very easy to use to snorkel the airbox.

Freestyle -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 8:33:29 PM)

Yeah we are waiting on a link bro!!!

#4 -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 9:15:31 PM)

This is what i would use to connect to the air box. It's called a tank adapter or a bulkhead fitting.

[image]http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll256/Back-Black/bulkhead20new.jpg[/image]
Here is a link to look at so you can find the size you need. If you notice the fitting has a female thread on it so you can screw a male adapter in it. Then you can any kind of pipe you want.

Here it is installed

This fitting can be used to come out the fron too.

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 9:48:01 PM)

UnConquered*King -> RE: My KQ Snorkle and Radiator Relocation Job (7/24/2008 9:51:55 PM)

I used a marine silicon to seal the box and this adapter into the airbox...
