Been having these problems since its first rebuild. When I try to start the bike it just turns over and over and finally starts after like 30 seconds and sometimes longer. Once it is running it runs great, just problems starting.

We have rebuilt it twice for bevel gears and rings and it still does the same thing.

We had a spark problem a while back and went thru everything electrical on the bike and found out it was the wiring harness, change it, and it still cranks the same way.

This past race we entered the owner rolled it under the water. We dried everything out and it would not crank at all so we parked it for a couple of weeks because we were tired of it. We stole the starter off it for a rushed rebuild and got a brand new one for this one, so it has a new starter now.

Well we put the ne starter in it and tried to fire er up and nothing. It has spark and the throttle body is shooting fuel out, So im STUCK. I have used a little starter fluid on it shooting down the throttle body, still nothing.

Sorry for the long story but I wanted yall to know the life story of this POS. Has anyone had these problems????? Any suggestions?????

It dont have but 10 miles on the piston and rings that are in it. So I dont think thats it.

i sunk mine at mud nats and it would not crank. well after about 20 min of grinding on the starter a friend that workes at the suz shop were we live was there and he said try to start it and grabed the pull rope and just started yankin the crap out of it wile i was on the stater and it cranked . sounds crazy but it worked. might try it ? let me know if it works

mine wants to die or cut out when u get too deep in the water or even when u go fast threw not deep but like a foot deep and it splashes up . it cuts out and pops sometimes it will die and i have to set there for a min  then it will run agian .  you might not no but thought i would ask .

check your spark plug wire to your boot. mine melted and everytime i went too deep or water splashed on it it would die.. just a thought

If it has fuel and it has spark, how's the valve timing?

Check for corrosion on the ECM plug. One of ours had an intermittant starting problem like this and it turned out to be a corroded / broke pin on the ECM harness.

I thought about the timing but for it to have ran so good to start with I didnt think that would be it. If it ran good before we rolled it in water could it still be the timing?

As far as the ECM, We put a different one on it off of another 700 efi and it still took it a while to crank about 2 months ago when we had the no fire problem and it ended up being the wiring harness like I said earlier.

Valve timing could cause a hard start and allow it to run great if its not off to bad so yes I would consider the valve timing. As for the no start, have you changed the plug? I know you say it may have spark but I have had spark plugs show signs of spark but not fire good enough to start the engine, put in a new plug and started right up.  Have you checked for fault codes? Do you know how to do that?  Checking compression would be a way to check if the valve timing is off. If it is low put a little oil in the cylinder, if it does not help much or at all its the valve timing. If it helps the compression drasticly its a problem with the rings or pistion.

I will try the spark plug. It looks fairly new and alot of spark but worth a try.

I checked the timing tonight and is off a little, i fixed that now, but it still wont crank.

fault codes is where you plug the plug into the plug under the seat and a code comes on your screen right? I gotta find that plugin thang and replace the screen. I am in the process of trying that.

It also has a DynaJet programmer on it and when you turn the key on the light goes up and down a little and then cuts off, When its turning over its goes up and down again. I thought when the key is turned on the light is suppose to stay on at the bottom of the bar????

Oh so you mean it wont crank? I thought you meant it would crank and not start. Am I right? It won't crank?

I had the exact same problem for the longest time. Would be turning over forever like as if its out of gas, then suddenly take off and run great for the rest of the day.

I have spark and fuel as well, and swapped out my ECU box for a VDI aftermarket one. I know for sure my timing is right too.

Still have the exact same problem, am pretty sure its in the wiring somewhere. I just stopped worrying about it since once it cranks, i can run it all day anyways. Probably will be ****ing and moaning about it once I stall out in a deep hole, and then track it down. ;)

yea your right still wont crank at all. we have untill august the 30th to figure this s**t out, thats the next race. A think its something electronic, but im just stumped!!!!!!!!!

Do you hear the starter solenoid under the seat click or anything? Take the seat off and put your hand on it and hit the starter button and check to see if you feel it click or not. If if does check it with a test light to see if you have power on both sides of it (the large terminals that the battery cables connect to) you should have power on both sides when you press the start button. Then check at the starter to make sure you don't have a bad cable. I am assuming you have a new starter from your previous posts. If it does not click you may try to change the Neutral relay (bottom right in the fuse box) with the lights relay (upper left relay in fuse box), then see if it cranks and whether the lights work or not.  You did check your fuses right, they are all good? If this doesn't help I'll give you my number and you can call me and I can walk you throught the wiring diagram so you know where to start checking to trace the wires in the start circuit till you find the problem. One other thing to check, put the quad in gear and pull the brake and see if it cranks then. Hope this helps, if not post on here and well go from there. One last thing for now. Check all the diodes in the fuse box and make sure the arrows on all of them are facing to the throttle side of the quad.
