581 kit

BADVINSON! -> 581 kit (7/23/2008 1:49:23 PM)

Had a guy ask me to put a 581 BB kit in his 05 Vinson, and was wondering if anybody has done one or knows of someone that has. I can get one (4 stroke tech) and do the job for him no problem, but the heat as well as the strain on the engine and drive-train is what concerns me about this application.

There have been a few Cat guys put the 581cc kit and 606cc kit in there 500s and are happy with them. I think he quite making the 606cc kit because of head gasket issues but the 581cc kit is spose to be a good kit.

     [sm=exactly.gif] I used to work with a guy that had the 581 in his Vinson, that was perty Bad @ss! I never rode it, but he could walk the dog on my 500 4man, with HMF utility & jet. He had an FMF ? & it was jetted. From the hole he had me perty bad, after that he had me Terribly bad! He would pull away, Very quickly & would not stop widening the gap! I was very impressed with the performance. Before that I could stay within a reasonable distance of him when he was stock! Also, if I remember correctly, he said it was perty decent priced! thanks for the info guys.  i put that in my "mod bank" for a rainy day!!

man i just got to thinking, 581 kit combined with the gear reduction, clutch kit, and typical mods (filter/pipe/snorkel/jets) what even more of a beast the vinny would be!!

Just think if you ported and polished the HEAD cammed it and put in the 581cc BBK along with the stroker crank from turners.   with your gear reduction.

oooohhhhh man you got me drooling now, lol!  all i can say is i never though of it till now...........but it's not in the near future i can assure that, but it's definetly something to keep on the back burner!!

Parts dont sound too bad of price But is the labor gonna cost and to fine someone can do  the bore around here,,,,sure aint going to the dealer...will pull your EYE OUT !! lol..i will check around and  maybe next year i put the 581cc in my Vinny hehe

there are 2 places around alexandria area that will do it.  abouta $100 bux i think.  that's what they charged my buddy when he had his wolverine jug bored out.

no that's just for the bore at that price.  i'm sure it's more if you take them the bike to have them do the install.  that price was him bringing the jug to them and picking it up.
