Here ya go:

http://www.atvriders.com/atvmodels/honda2009bigredsidexsidemuvvehicle.html

Sure that is you type "2009 Honda Big Red" into any search engine (as I just did) then you'll get plenty of reading material.
There is a thread somewhere within the Honda section here, complete with pictures but I'm too lazy to search for it.

You know, I bet HONDA'S WEBSITE would be a pretty good place to start looking for info on the Big Red. I mean, I doubt anyone knows any more than they do about the machine.

the 2009 Honda's will be released the SECOND WEEK of September. Honda usually releases the unchanged 2009 models in June, but have not done it this year for reasons unknown to me.

That Honda 700XX has around 53hp, so there is NO reason why Honda can't put some serious numbers in a Utility for 2009.

Hmmmmm, interesting. There is more specs on the Big Red than the last time I looked. Few interesting thing's I noticed that are worth mentioning.

Transmission. We know it has the Rincon's motor, and with the new specs we now know it also has the Rincon's transmission. But, with its weight at over 1400lbs, (wow!) Honda must have geared it down quite a bit lower than the Rincon is for the Big Red to be even useable. Now, that sucks if you want a fast SxS, but it COULD mean that it will be possible to swap out the gears in the Rincons transmission to achieve an OEM parts only gear reduction, which would be absolutely awesome for you fools trying to turn big tires.

Width. The darn thing is 64" wide, and it looks it too. Making it the WIDEST SxS made, 14" wider than the RZR, 10" wider than the Rhino, 4" wider than the Prowler, its even 4" wider than the Kubota RTV900. This makes it pretty much useless for use on trails, around here even Rhino's are too wide in a lot of areas.

They did some more minor tweaking since the first pics and info was released. Silver "HONDA" on the front rather than black. Funky black plastic things on the hood. Doors on the sides with mesh above it (LOL).

All it looks like to me is a useless over sized golf cart, thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it. If you want the safest SxS on the market this is it, and it shows.

Ahh, good point, I never thought of that. Your probably right, larger/stronger ring and pinions would have been needed for the Big Red so they would have probably changed the gearing there.
I wonder if the Big Red can be shifted in an ESP mode like the Rincon or is it only automatic?

The Big Red has a locker in it thow. My dealer went to the show last year and took some pic of it it looks better than you think. It has a low too I don't know if you can put it in ESP. The trany is more like a truck that a ATV.

No it doesn't, it has a torque sensitive front differential like all the other Honda's do. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a low either, unless they slapped a sub-transmission onto the Rincon's transmission and didn't bother to say anything about it on their website.

yeah honda really needs to start to step up to the plate here with some new updates to their model line up.  up in my neck of the woods it used to be 90 - 95% honda now everyone is starting to go  to other brands for comfort and more power, its too bad

What i think honda should do is focus in on the Rincon and the Rancher 420 and the Foreman 500 those are the most popular bikes so add a Locker, lower the gearing in the Rinny maybe V-twin er. The Rancher 420 Locker,IRS,rear disk brakes. The Foreman Locker,IRS ect. Even if they dont want to fully convert every thing over to IRS because the farmers/business people that use it around the farms and business dont want a IRS for pulling and hauling stuff then no big deal offer the Rancher 420 in either IRS or SRA same with the Foreman call the independent bikes the Rancher 420i for example i really like Honda and would hate to have to jump ship to a BF or anything else but its kinda annoying why they dont use there head alittle bit more like even trail riders would take a IRS quad over a SRA. Honda needs to do there home work i think.
