Do polaris dealers not get something off the top end back from polaris?  This is common throughout the auto dealership world.  I think GM dealers get 3% or 4% from GM reguardless of the price they sell it at.  Salesmen never see this but the owners do.  I would think Polaris has a similar program.  I'm not saying any dealer is making a killing...but look at it this way..YOU ARE NOT IN BUSINESS IF YOU ARE NOT MAKING MONEY!  Plain and simple.  They may be losing a little money selling so cheep, but they are making it up somewhere else.  This would explain why smaller dealers have to sell higher and make the money on the sticker because 3% on 50 bikes a year hardly would pay the lighbill...and if your in the thousands of sells...who cares if you sell for invoice or not.

Just my thoughts.  I may be completely wrong and I am sure there are plenty of people ready to correct me!  I am a firm believer in supporting local business.  If you put into your town it will pay back...even if it is better service..which means alot!

I'm pretty sure they get some type of bonus at the end of the year based on sales. At least that is what  I understood from my dealer, he called it "hold back". I have the best of both worlds with my dealer, local family owned, high volume/low prices and great service all at the same dealer.

This is the main reason why I always say to support your local dealership.   Quit running to the next state to get your machine at a discount then get upset because your local dealer is not on the ball to get your warrenty work done.

Exactly, customers will never understand though, its allways the dealer tryin to screw them. Never the customer screwing the dealer

Heh, when my dealer wants 11,600 for the rzr and teh msrp is 10,300, im gonna go to another state. Whos screwin who?

Hold back is a small percentage of msrp that a dealer gets on each unit, its so small it has no bearing on the price of the unit, dealers that go into the holdback amount are really struggling to get rid of something. If you have to go into holdback its a good sign you are struggling in one way or another.

You wouldnt quite have enough on trade, be better off selling them out right to someone you would have plenty then. Plus we are virtually out of 08 models completely so all we will have is 09's and plenty of em, i'll just hook you up on a deal on one of those instead.

Its simple there jeffro, nobody is trying to screw you, their machine is 10,300(msrp) plus tax, title, doc, vit, freight from polaris and then paying certified machanic to properly assemble it for you, 11,600 sounds about right. Now you are the guy that thinks the dealer is trying to screw you when they are just selling a machine for what it cost, nothing less nothing more.

I may have to jump on another 500 carb before I can't anymore.   I will have to do some major remodeling though to convert the front drive over to the external hillard design.

It will depend on how much people are willing to pay for the 09s.  There will be a price difference that people will be willing to pay to have the new 09s and the dealer will have to drop the 08's enough so that some people are willing to take them to save the extra money.

This true I beleive the pricing on the 09's will probably be 8500 to 9000 just a guess if that is the case I think people will buy the 08's which are very good machines and the price is very nice I got my 07 mossy oak edition 800 last October for 7300.00 with winch installed otd. which I thought was a great deal.

Nope, I would really like to have an 800 but to covert it over to a carb and do the external hillard is just too much.

Maybe I can get a freind to hook me up with an 800 and transplant it into my 01 HO and do the carb thing on that.    Hey now that is an idea.

Get an 800 motor, 500 HO carb, Reburned 700 CDI box from Pro 5, some wiring modifications and be set.   Get away from all the computer controlled crud and have a pulling fool of an atv and have a front end design that actually works all the time.

$1300 dollars over msrp is rediculus. Its very rare to hear of anyone paying over msrp out the door with tax, delv, assemble bla bla bla on almost any atv, normally its way below. Unless its someone who is just looking at the payment number, stealerships favorite customers at 20%, probably dont need to be buying if thats the case anyways. The razors are popular right now and if there is a shortage of them, some sucka might pay that. But I know it wouldent be me. I'd drive to the next state too or wait a few months to save a few thousand $$$$$. I'd stay local, but $1300 would buy alot of mods!!!!! I drove 8 hours to buy the only 650 ac H1 in Florida when they first came out, I paid msrp out the door and that sucked, had to have it. 6 months later they were about $800 less and I have no problems with local dealers working on it.

So you are saying that dealers should suck up the freight charges that they pay to get the machines and they should suck up all the setup fees (shop time) to get the machine properly setup, along with the taxes etc?

Man if that is true then there are not many dealers that will beable to stay in business for very long.

OTD prices shoudl never below or equal to MSRP .   These are not cars and pickups were you get nice kick backs for selling them or actually make a profit off of them.

So you want the dealer to pay YOUR tax and YOUR state charged fees?? Your probly one of those people that thinks all the charges are just made up huh?? You have no clue, you say the fees are blah blah blah and in reality each one is an ACTUAL FEE that cost money to the dealer. Ah this is pointless i know what kinda person you are, and you'll never get it.

Ridin dirty, I've read some of your posts and it seems all of them are condesending and insulting other forum members. Nothing positive or helpful. You seem to talk alot for someone who has nothing to say. Before you make ignorant statements about topics you apperently know nothing about, do a simple search. The first search results for "800 prices" showed most members out the door with extra add ons and warrentys far below msrp. Just because your and idot and paid over MSRP, dosent mean others have. Heres a link, enjoy the reading... I even started a new topic for ya, check it out. Peace....

$1300 dollars over msrp is rediculus. Its very rare to hear of anyone paying over msrp out the door with tax, delv, assemble bla bla bla on almost any atv, normally its way below.

Where is the guy eating the bag of popcorn when you need him????

Sales slow Chase????? You seem to be on the net a lot more lately.....
