i've got an 04.5 2500 quad cab cummins, i'm gettin a suncoast full billet comp unit, converter, and flex plate put in monday. Jus tryin to see if anybody runnin them had any complaints about them

I cant remember for sure, but i think alot of guys on Dieselplace use them.. theres this guy in Texas that does miracles with Allisons. thats why i was asking.

Some of them hold up but most of the time that i have seen or read about people have tweaked them a lil bit more to get them to last.

Like ff1501 said they use the conveters and flex plate.

Im bout to run a Hts billet with suncoast converter and flex plate. I like that combo alot better[:D]

suncoast is supposed to be a good tranny ...

i've got a DTT in my '01 and it's survived at 500/1000 for 80k miles so far ...

would never have believed you could build a tranny that tuff ...

i've won hundreds of bucks when some dipstick smirks and says "diesels aint quick ... they're built to tow"[sm=muahaha.gif]

lately people are beginning to get smart but i still get the occasional "you can't spin those duallys" ... 20$ later and their all[sm=doh.gif]

For a Dodge I would reccomend Goerend Brothers transmissions out of Iowa. They are a premier builder and specialize in dodge automatics only.And only the ones behind the cummins. If you look around youll see a lot of big names running them.

But when its comes to the Allison, man you cant beat a suncoast.

I run a Suncoast Stage IV with the new 1054 Converter and a factory allison deep pan. This winter Im looking at adding an ATS Billet Flex plate and co-pilot as well as TTS Billet shafts then I can call my trans done. But I plan on tearing it apart every winter to freshen it up.

If i get around to upgrading my turbo this winter like I plan to, I will also be swapping out the 1054 for a 1058 so as to help spool the bigger snail.

IMO no one manufactur builds a perfect trans, that why mine is a mix of different brands.

He's right, Goerend from Iowa makes awesome trannies and the customer service is top notch, thats what I'm running in my 06 Dodge.

I don't have much experience with built autos behind a Cummins but I can tell you I HAVE heard some bad things about DTT and their warranties from people I know. I have heard a lot of good about Goerend and HTS though!

I have had a Suncoast tranny in my 99 F350 for about two years now, and have never had a problem with it. I pull a 41 foot KZ Toyhauler with my truck, and it was what killed my factory tranny. I went with Suncoast because alot of the guys around here, including a couple of my good friends have them and have been very satisfied with them. I own a hauling and grading company, and you never know what I am going to have my truck hooked to, or what is on the trailer when I go to pull with it. So far, so good is all that I can say about them, mine has been good to me.  Good luck with whatever you go with.

i had a suncoast in my 12 valve that was pushing 968 pounds of torque at the wheels and it held up great

definatly go with the full billet if posible the drag truck my buddy just sold had the sun coast in it but not the full billet one and the output shaft broke but it was also a 800hp truck on diesel so billet all the way on that one no matter the power its just a soild investment and a killer warrenty

I went with the full billet comp unit with all the billet shafts flex plate vb and converter, a lil pricey but money well spent. It shifts perfect and smooth. Gotta see just how much it can handle tho, i've got cp3s injectors and nitrous on the way now. As for the warranty, the billet shafts themselves aren't covered, they just replace everything the shafts take out with them if they break and you have to pay for a new shaft.

I know a few shops won't do billet input and output shafts unless you ask.  They are alot easier to replace than internal parts of the transmission.

i got a billet input and intemediate ...

left the output shaft stock to act as a "shear pin"

if it breaks it's easy to replace with the tranny in the truck

call me opinionated but if you cant make power with fuel and air you shouldnt be driving a diesel especially on a cummins.

I dont know about missispi but around here I dont know a single truck running it and it is outlawed by just about every organization. So Unless you wanna be a cheater on the dyno there really is no use for it and it is hard on parts.  Just my 2c

I'm also running BD race twins, haven't dyno'd it yet but i'd guess its around 700+ hp all fuel. The spray is mostly for a little fun every now and then, in drags and playin around. The spray should push it over 1000 hp, i'll find a dyno one day and play around with it. So it does make the power with fuel and air no problem the nitrous is for that i want more everbody gets now and then

Humm. I know of some builders that take care of the shafts when they break even billet. BD race twins are alright. MPI is who i would of went with. Good choice to spray it easy power.

What kind of cp3 u runnin??

Im ordering a aurora 500 tuesday[:D]. 800 hp single turbo and lil spray coming soon

I'm running an industrial injection super cp3. The aurora is a good turbo as long as you don't plan on towing with it

Have fun spooling that beast.

Its one of my options for an upgrade but I have no clue what Im doing yet.  Its narrowed down to, A5K, Cheetah, Turbonetics T-66,  Garrett GT42R series, MPI Twins, or multiple other twin setups. 

I havent found one turbo that completely impresses me so I might build a hybrid, or two into a twin setup. Depends how ambitious I get.

as for the nitrous, I was unaware that you had the fuel power already.

Yep along with some other ones. The 5k, k-31, silverbullet, all have lag.

were talking big competition turbos, not many of which I would want to drive with. Much less tow with.

I designed a twin setup that I may go with today. Both Garretts. little guy=GT4088R, Big guy=GT4508R
