flynt -> Latest News on the 926 (7/20/2008 12:40:22 PM)

Got done putting here back together after having the heads and cylinders o-ringed due to head gaskets blowing friday night and went to our local 300' dirt track for some racing. 1st pass out I ran a 4.78 on motor and had to let out of it once to keep from hitting the rail. After loosing all the money races due to not being able to make it go straight we finally figured it out and got her going in one direction.
I called out who I thought to be the fastest bike there. We lined up and ran. I put down the fastest time of the night and the fastest time I've ever run a 4.52. I feel like this is probably one of the fastest runs a brute has ever made with a time slip to prove it. I'll post it later. I'll be running again this weekend at another track to see if I can back it up.

Dang you Flynt...  We need to hook up and put that motor in a mud bike...  Sweet times..  Did you get my pics?

flynt -> RE: Latest News on the 926 (7/20/2008 12:46:21 PM)

Yeah i did, thanks. This motor will never be on a mud bike as long as it's mine... Ha!

Good job and congrats..  I'd really like to see that thing run.  Maybe you can mke it up here and run it on our track one saturday night.  I will tell you though our track is not a real fast track but you never know you  might put down some great times on it.. It's really up to how you have it set up.  I'm still running stock heads and carbs on my bike and It ran a few 4.94's last night which i'd say is pretty good for the set up i'm running..

Well i heard one of Xtreme's 853's ran a 4.4 and the proof is they had a bounty on this bike at the haascienda. The owner of this bike was Nic Bussen and now i know of 2 more that's running that fast (all built by Xtreme)[;)]

Gearslayer -> RE: Latest News on the 926 (7/24/2008 6:13:58 PM)

That 4.4 is on juice that bike runs 4.8's on motor.

tankrunner -> RE: Latest News on the 926 (7/25/2008 8:42:53 AM)

once you break that 5 second mark it takes twicw as much to drop a tenth than before..  Also i figure once i get my heads done and put big carbs on it.  I should drop a few tenths.  I'm hoping to be around 4.6 to 4.7 on mine all motor. My problem is getting it to hook up.. This year our track is 1.5 to 2 tenths slower than it was last year due to all the pro bikes coming and complaining about not having a fluff track.  Then they started catering to them and messed our times up bad.  Hey flynt when is the next race near you , I'd like to come down and see what mine will do on a different track.

That is so true!!

Most people dont understand that.

I do have one complaint though. I hear guys talking about how slow there track is. It a given that everyone thinks they would be faster on a better track but if you have the bike setup right for your track then you could actually slow down by going to another place no matter if its considered a fast track or not.

flynt -> RE: Latest News on the 926 (7/25/2008 1:04:42 PM)

I'm racing tonight and tomorrow night at monticello, then next weekend I'll be at pelehatchie.
It's my opinion that a good racer should be able to adapt to whatever track conditions you have.

Or go faster.
Thats why time slip racing is so ****. Differnt areas will make whatever kind of motor run better or worse.

Air quality, track surface, altitude, all of it plays in the gamble.

thats about right on a good hard track....my heads are the small AMR heads and i run 4.60's all day on a GOOD hard track but i also been to a softer track with the same set up on the bike and ran 5.30's.....set up is very important on each track you go to...you have to ajust where every you go......

GOOD JOB FLYNT!!!!!!!!

Gauge if I remember right you was called out when you first got your bike together and was testing and tuning it.

As soon as you started going to the track all of a sudden Nics bike got tore down and never put back together again.I think he started messing with boats.

But I was told that when he ran the 4.4's they was preping the track perfectly just for him on those runs.I could go faster if I could get my local track preped just perfect for my bike.[sm=exactly.gif]
