O.K. I seen these thingy-ma-bobs on a couple of bikes , foot pegs for the person on the rear and a back rest that bolted to the rack. i guess my searching skills aint very good!

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 1:55:53 PM)

If you're talking about a backrest like the one on my Rincon...
Don't buy any brand but the San Angelo backrest.It's made far better than the others.

Kawa650 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 7:04:41 PM)

I have the ride-n-rest and like it just fine. The main reason i got that one is because its made out of aluminum, so I wouldn't have something rusting on my bike.

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 7:11:26 PM)

That makes sense...but I've actually stood on mine when in deep water,and I don't know how the aluminum would like my 200 pound butt on it.lol.

Kawa650 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 7:46:13 PM)

Yeah i hear you there but i will say its pretty stout. I was riding wheelies one time and came up a bit to far and the bars (that mount it) hit the ground, dranging them a lil ways, cause i had it slid back, and didnt really bend them much!!!

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 7:48:30 PM)

Mine hang about 6" past my rack...and have a piece of aluminum plate mounted to the bottom of them that my cooler is mounted to.
It does make a pretty good "wheelie bar".lol.

Kawa650 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 7:54:15 PM)

LOL thats cool. I think another good thing about them is my "trail" cooler fits perfect inbetween them, so it holds it from going side to side better. I got mine cause i was tierd of the G/F trying to pull me off when poping wheelies, now i dont know what i would do with out it!!!

oilfeildtrash -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 9:29:05 PM)

Thanks not I just gotto find the footpegs

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 9:36:19 PM)

Yeah...about 2 seconds after my wife snapped this pic...I was getting griped at for the twin ruts in the yard from the bars.lol.

Kawa650 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/19/2008 10:06:32 PM)

haha thats funny! But yeah mine stick out about an inch from rack when its back for the women to use.

I was thinking of getting fender guards/foot pegs my self but i dont think ive seen em' anywhere, but haven't looked for them also!!!

oilfeildtrash -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 12:38:50 AM)

The ones Im wanting are just footpegs I dont really like the look of the fender gaurds. I seen some that just bolt to the floor boards. I belive they are made by kimpex or something like that.

oilfeildtrash -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 12:41:08 AM)

Now thats a good pic

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 10:37:01 AM)

The only floor board mounted rear footpegs I've seen are the factory ones offered on the 2-up Popo's and Canned Hams.

HEBERT77640 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 11:28:02 AM)

i kinda like how they hang off a little bit cause it helps from flipping back in some cituations but i cut the excess metal off with a metabo grinder i cut closest to the last hole

HEBERT77640 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 11:31:46 AM)

if you look close enough you can see the holes and i cut it right behind that (in this pic its not cut)

oilfeildtrash -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 11:57:51 AM)

Well i finally found them they are made by tamarack around 40 bucks and the mount clean to the floor board

dcfox -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/20/2008 12:37:42 PM)

Hmm... them are pretty cool, I might have to look at them myself!!!

7Fiddy -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/23/2008 6:00:33 PM)

the kimpex foot pegs are great. they look the best and are adjustable. i have them and the same back rest as HEBERT77640 on my brute. my girl loves it. they take about 10 minutes  to put on.you can get them on ebay for good price.

Waterfreak66 -> RE: Footpegs and Backrest (7/24/2008 7:24:34 AM)

I have a set of the Tamarak foot pegs you can have; just pay the shipping.  I replaced them with the Bison fender guard/passenger foot pegs (can be found on ebay).

I got some on my rancher, dont ask me who made them because I don't remeber. But I did get them at the popo dealer, but they were made for a Honda.

Let me know if you want em outdrsmn82.  Shipping to you will be approx. $11, so make it an even $20.  Does that sound fair (if they fit your bike)?
