I take back what I said about the 700XX. Saw one in person today and the quad is simply way too small for me. My KFX 700 fit and finish is ten x's nicer than that Honda and the plastic under the motor has to go!!! I sat on the quad and the ground clearance was less than on a solid axel quad and the machine rocks bigtime from side to side. My 700 handles like it is on rails and I'm not sure the Honda will!!!

If you think the ground clearance is less on the Honda than a straight axle, you're too fat. My cousin weighs in at 270lbs and there is a lot of clearance. The KFX don't even compare to the 700xx. It's a Utilty with sport plastics. More or less a fat mans bike. We have both. The straight axle handles a little better until you get the hang of the IRS. Speed wise the KFX can't keep up at all. My Gade can't even touch it. We did 600k this weekend and everyone was amazed what these 700xx's go through. Is it the best bike for duners? maybe not, but it'll hold it's own. Is it the best sport bike for mountain climbing, rutted trails, wash outs, creeks and high mileage trips, and haulin ****. which it was designed for. Absolutely.

We have a little raft up here you have to use to cross the river. We have an awesome trail system. I believe it's around 18-20000k of groomed trails. The Honda will be modded, just waiting to see what's released.

Why the **** would you even buy a Rhino 450?lol The Rhino 700 is a POS so I can just imagine that thing. Rhino not ugly? lol. I'm not worried about no 450r. You need a cooler of beer, cause it takes you forever to get to the bar to buy one.

dirtybird you got a lotta nerve crackin on the 700xx when you ride the slowest snail in the atv kingdom, the rhino 450 , lol, i mean, gosh, cant afford a bigger model.  and what 450r is that exactly that you ride?  post a pic and put it in your sig if u even have one.  not wantin to be mean, and im half playin, but seriously u brought this on yourself.

scboy how does the 700 raptor rate as a "pretty" bike?  bikes are made for performance, not looks, and your raptor is an awesome bike, but the 700xx is an irs bike and built for a differsnt purpose.  ive been around a lot of raptors, and when the ruts get deep, well their riders get off the bike and push.  for draggin, admittedly their awesom.

give the guy a break guys, he bought a honda and rides it and likes it.  and it looks like hes got another awesome bike, the renegade, which will go anywhere and fast.  looks to me he's got it made, and those pix tell me so.

i guess i ought to ride a 700xx before i speak but no one has one around here except the stealership and they laff at you if you ask em.  i cant imagine its THAT slow, but remember honda detunes their rides (example: 450r) so with the big three mods, and the HRC if they make it, i bet the 700xx will be slammin'. just my .02.

i still dont get the ugly part though, i guess its cause i ride a kfx, lol

At certain angles it looks odd, then some it looks awesome. It is by no means slow. Whoever rode it and says it's slow only had it in a parking lot. From the shootout I read it was off by .2 in 300ft against the Raptor, and had the highest top speed of any sport bike which they never got because it ran out of room. It does feel corked up and a pipe is going to make a good gain. I believe it's been tuned for Cali. emissions.

chrisj i rode it down tha black top and its not that fast. they told me it would run like 86 stock thats a bunch of crap it will go but not no 86. i was exaggeratin when i was comparin it to a 400ex w/ pipe but it did compare to a raptor it actually felt like you were riding on one. it seems like it would be an okay gravel pit or trail bike IMO. but like i said i was expecting it to just tear out jerk my arms off lol but no such luck lol AND QUIT KNOCKIN THA RHINO lol its slow but it will crawl ha ha it wasnt bought for speed it was bought ta mud lol oh and i rode a can am renegade 800 tha other day OMG i want one lol i want tha motor in ma rhino. when i blow tha 450 it will have a can am 800 in it.

I don't think it'll do 86, but 80ish is in there. I just got a TrailTech installed so I haven't tried it out yet. This is where your "slow" statement is whacked. It destroys the Renegade. It's a trail bike, that is what it's designed to be. It still don't replace the Gade because I believe it's the best all around quad out there, but the Honda holds its own.

Yeh well my dealer said the Gade 800 will run 98mph. I would be mad to if they said that and I was a big enough idiot to belive them.

Can't wheelie? The 700xx has no problem in 1st,2nd & 3rd. The things jump beautiful and have a forgiveness factor landing off kilter. 400ex hang with it? Not even close. Both our 700xx's smoke my Renegade 800x and the KFX700. It wasn't built to be a dune machine. It's a trail beast. Both are hitting 80mph top speeds. It was only off by .2 of a second to the Raptor in a drag and it feels very restricted. Once a pipe and EFI tuner is on them they're going to be a **** machine. My only complaint is they push quite a bit in turns if you're not putting your weight to the front.

]

Alright guys, you heard it straight from a man who has 2 of them as well as an 800 Renegade X. He has no reason to lie about it. Cris, I believe you 100%. The guy who said a piped 400EX beats a 700xx obviously just don't know.

That Baja one looks MEAN.

The trx450 also has more hp than a YFZ but a yfz still outruns it in a drag race. Im not saying 100% that its slower because I havent seen one run yet, all Im saying is Horsepower isnt everything.

I'd have to agree with Chris. It's an excellent machine at what it was designed for, the trails. I have one and have been very happy since I bought it two months ago. The ground clearance is awesome. I'm a big guy at 6'6" 260 pounds and I have no problem throwing it around. I have notice the problem with it pushing a little in the corners but have adjusted how I ride with the way it rides by getting a little further up on the bars.
I've only raced a Raptor 660, and beat him badly, but we all know that the 660's are a little slow.
I have over 24 hours of seat time in it now (and the scratches in the plastic to prove it) and I've had it in nearly almost every enviroment except snow. It goes through mud with great ease, so much so that the straight axle guys can't keep up and get high centered. The mud does eat the front brake pads though as the Honda engineers seemed to have forgotten to cover the insides of the rotors. I guess that will be a "feature" for next year. Speaking of ground clearance, where I trail ride now is VERY rocky near the Texas and Oklahoma border. That extra room is wonderful when going up the technical climbs.

Dirtybird,

Do you ever go riding up at Sand Hill ATV in Wiggins? I have family near there and when I go to that area I always bring my quad. Where do you go riding at there where you live? (legally) Maybe we could meet up and go riding?
