I knew that my Bighorns ran a little big, and that the Zilla's ran a little short- but this is CRAZY. Both are 27" tires, 11" wide mounted on Arctic Cat LE 12" wheels. Remember, these tires are sold by the same company... just don't make any sense. I would have got the 28"s, but they still don't make them for the 12" wheel... and I was on backorder for almost 2 months! I still like them, but it's just crazy!

What I gained from the bigger lugs, I'll lose in ground clearance! I guess that I'm close to factory now. Oh well, maybe it'll be more stable in the WV mountains...

why do they do that isnt that false advertising, saying its a 27" when it turns out to be a near a 26". 27" is 27" on my ruler, these companys are just saying they are bigger then what they are so you buy them and say hey it fits.
if i spent alot of money on a set of tires they better be the right size and not say 27" on them and not be bigger then 26" kinda makes you really wounder whats else are they jipping us out of.

I haven't measured them yet, but I'm guessing no more than 26". The Bighorns were just a little over 27"s.

Well, they both measure about 26-1/4"s, with 6.5lbs in the front and 7lbs in the rears. What's bad is I'll prolly drop it down to about 4lbs in both. Oh well, I'm going to grab an InBev Light and vacuum my little pool...

I think a lot of it has to do with Maxxis trying to make one of the lightest 27" tires out there. If they were really 27" tall they would weight more. Kinda like what the ATV makers do when they stretch the CC size of the bike. My old AC 400 was really a 376CC engine. Thats as close to a 350 as it is to a 400 but which do you think sounds better to the unsuspecting buyer.

So far i love the preformace i have gotten from my 28" Zillas. But they only measure 27 1/4" tall with 6psi in them. I do have them mounted on the 8" wide rims so i figure that dont help either.

Well, for me this is sort of good news cause I was afraid the 27" Zilla might not fit my 450 King Quad with stock wheels and no lift. If they run closer to 26" I'm okay with that.

Yeah, I kinda wish that I'd have saved up and got some 14" wheels too, but oh' well. I'm sure that I'll like them, just wish they were a true 27".

The 27" should be perfect for you, Ranchers, 450 Grizz etc... esp. as light as they are. They would Rock on a stock Big Bear too, spin like crazy. My next four wheeler will either be a 700 Grizz or a Bear, and just thinking about them on a Bear makes me lean that way.

Do you have any pics of them on the bike? Do you think that a stock rancher 350 could spin them because there so light?

WOW!! I didn't expect them to be lighter than the mudlites. When my mudlites wear out, I think that I will get me a set of 27' zillas. Will I need a lift?

Dude, I see no reason why you would. Measure your tires now, they probly really close to the Zillas at 26-1/4"s.

are the 27" bighorns like the smaller size ones that run way over size?  the 25's measure almost 26, so if the zilla's measure under 27, that accounts for the big difference.  my zilla 27's measure 26 1/2" and i love them.  but i'll be upgrading to 29.5 outlaws, which run well under sized as well.

Id be willing to bet the 14' rim Zillas dont' measure quite as short.  I've seen 28x14 Zillas next to 27x10 S!ilverbacks, and the Zillas looked AT LEAST one inch taller, easier.  And G*rilla prides themselves on having true-measuring tires... but I'm sure Maxxis, HL and Interco do to, and we know the kind descrepancies found in Zillas, 28 Laws and any skinny Vampire tire.

No measurements though, so it's only an assumption, and we all know what assuming does...

J Fred my 28x14 Zillas measure about 3/4 short with 6 psi in them. They are mounted on the 14x 8 rims. If they were on the 14x6 rims i figure they would measure a little closer to 28 but still be a touch short.

I've seen people put obscene amounts of air pressure in ATV tires to make them taller but IMO that asking for a punctured tire.
