somethings wrong with the chevy ...

he should've smoked you stock ...

1) take programmer off try again ...

2) check ALL filters  ... air and fuel

3) check all intercooler boots ...

etc ...

outlawbro -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/15/2008 7:25:45 PM)

ive heard problems with duramax's injectors you might wanna get them checked out

Guest -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/15/2008 10:41:40 PM)

The injector was only on the LB7 motors.  Run the codes and see if it tripped anything.  More than likely it did.  Change the fuel filter and change both tranny filters.  Did the truck run ok after he unloaded it?

Belvidere_Mudder -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/17/2008 8:00:55 AM)

but chevrolet warranties the injectors in the lb7 for 200,000 miles

Guest -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/17/2008 9:12:24 PM)

Yes you are right  (LB7)  The truck he has is a 2006.  01 to 04 had the LB7.  He has the LBZ in the 2006.......

Belvidere_Mudder -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/18/2008 6:15:12 AM)

outlawbro -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/18/2008 8:35:57 AM)

^^^that doesnt sound good[8|] like i said earlyier should of bought a dodge[:D]

Dock Rocker -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/18/2008 8:54:57 AM)

Check the codes you may have gotten thrown into limp mode.  pull the programer off and see what happens too.

Belvidere_Mudder -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/18/2008 1:05:00 PM)

my buddy has a 03 with the lb7 but he has a ppe hot and his tranny has been going into limp mode quite a bit.  it did it last night when i was riding with him and he pulled off to the side of the road and pulled the programmer off and put it back on and everything acted fine after that.

Guest -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/18/2008 3:44:55 PM)

If you work on them all the time then you should know that a PPE Hot program will send any stock tranny into limp mode.  You have to keep the power settings under the 120 to 135 hp tunes.  Anything over that and you are going to cook a stock tranny.  We rebuilt one a week and have seen first hand what a PPE program will do to a stock tranny.  We had to pry the C1 clutch packs a steels off of the shaft.  It had gotten so hot it warpped the steels.  The motor will take the abuse but a stock tranny will not.  They do not have the fluid and pressure.  And ofcoarse they do not have the TQ and extra clutches to hold the pressure.  We have pushed a stock Duramax engine to 730hp spraying NOS with a stock turbo.  We upgraded the turbo and tranny a little bit and got 708hp on diesel only and bent a connecting rod.  The engines are pretty tough.  If I ever go get another diesel it will be the duramax/allison.

BombOut800 -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/22/2008 3:05:29 AM)

did it throw a overboost code?

louisianarebel -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/22/2008 2:50:10 PM)

Probly had it on too big of a tune. Put it on 40 horse tune and try again. If that doesnt work take it off and try again.
But before that change filters.[;)]

7Fiddy -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/22/2008 6:24:41 PM)

look at your defuel settings

nonnieselman -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/22/2008 11:23:04 PM)

Or you could get a Custom tune and be done with it???

If you towed alot, i wouldnt put anything over a extra 75hp with a stock trans and converter... but thats just me...

Depends how heavy you tow. I wouldnt do more than 40 for stock trans and the 10k i pull.

I like to go fast pulling but i still want my trans to last a while.[;)]

Drew665 -> RE: 2006 duramax help!!! (7/24/2008 2:05:06 PM)

any of the guys who bash the duramax engine are up there a$$. they all have loud rattly cummins or powerstrokes that arent even as powerful as the duramax, and they get worse mileage
