ORIGINAL: oldtrx ... havent seen ya get that worked up [8|] but calm down man, if he wants to use it as a tie down let him, but one day he will learn and wish he listened to everyone. [sm=beerchug.gif] No, not worked up, but very concerned. The winch tie down has been discussed for a long time, there's always a new way to rationalize and justify it. The brake thing (mentioned above) is the latest, most widely heard one I've come across, when in fact it's just plain backwards thinking. Yes, I'm concerned that someone will loose an ATV. Perhaps someone who can afford to replace it, perhaps someone who had insurance and won't have any worries, but then again, what does that mean really? What happens when the ATV comes off of the trailer and takes the entire right front suspension out from under the mini-van behind you with a family of six riding in it? Or through the windshield. I don't know how many of you realize how high an ATV can be if they land a little crooked, before it settles into a barrel roll, but at 40 mph the windshield of a Kenworth is not out of the question. Maybe its not so terrible as that, and just pulverizes one kid on the side of the road who happened to be riding his bicycle at the wrong place and time. There's more consequences here than a broken winch or ATV.
