I havent put one in yet , but I will be doing it next week sometime. Its not hard if you got any kind of mechanical skills. I was wondering the same thing tho, but a different kinda question. I was wondering does it bolt up ??? I havent tried it yet, but I know Daniel at Turner Cycles was calling my friend alot after he bought it....Maybe to see if it worked ???

moss420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/9/2008 8:04:44 PM)

Man, that sound kinda funny.??!!!?? If the main guy who is puttin them out is calling to see if it worked; that aint really reasuring, is it??? I was wondering if anyone had done it yet but I think I may wait. Green420 if you don't mind, could you let me know how it goes??? I am really wanting one but now you got me second guessing if I should order one. I mean, you would think that if H.L. sells them that it would work right????? That it has been tried before being sold to a customer?? Just wondering.

TeReX420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/9/2008 9:15:37 PM)

did it help your friends bike?

Green420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/9/2008 9:19:35 PM)

Will be putting it in his bike probably monday or tuesday of next week. I called HL and asked if they were sure it worked and they said "yes is works, sold alot of them. What can I help you with? " That was kinda fishy by itself to me. We'll see how it goes next week.

TeReX420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/9/2008 10:01:16 PM)

If they have sold alot we should have see or heard about them on here.

Yeah it looks like Green is gonna be a guinea pig again. Let us know how it goes, I dont wanna buy it if it dont work.

BTW, I just noticed that, in your sig Green, it says 425  Rancher. Whered you get the extra 5 cc's?

Ok, what parts did you use and how much did it cost ya (if ya dont mind me askin)? I gotta get a little more power for my 420, and if it didnt cost you that much, I just might do the same.

New crank, piston, rings, bearings, valves, etc , etc, etc. 500 bucks parts alone. 500 for the motor rebuild and clean the bottom end out. And that price is with me taking the motor out of the bike. [&o]

Continued in PM. So as to not jack moss420's original thread.

red420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/10/2008 3:10:16 PM)

it works easy to put in but if electic shift the speedo meter wont work and that will cause the electic shift  to blink out a code and wont shift but you can grind on the bottom of the speed senor to make it go in the hole more and it will fix the problem
dont know abot the manual shift it w might work with no problems like i had

420RancherInTheMud -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/10/2008 3:16:14 PM)

Are you sure of the speedo bein messed up with the Turner reduction? Im not doubting you, I just want to get my facts straight so I know what to expect.

So you are saying that the reduction will make the es not work?????

HondaGuy -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/10/2008 5:42:33 PM)

I hope not I want to get one for mine later on.

Green420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/10/2008 6:29:47 PM)

I dont know about that sensor he is talking about. Really doesnt make sense to me. I will let you guys know Monday what the deal is. [;)]

red420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/10/2008 11:30:02 PM)

well all you got to do is unplug the speed senor and you willfind out ride in one gear at one speed with it unpluged so it wont read and you will see.  truner cyc told me that the speedo might work or might not  I have two of them and they both do the same thing Im not saying that the esp wont work at all but when you ride with the speedo not working it will put a code out and wont let you shift cut the key off and back on it will work again for a min. It does not matter if it if it is stock or not unplug and ride and you will see. Call truner cyc. and ask I wound the problem for him. This is on a 07 esp honda 420 rancher with ruction and a 08 esp rancher s un

tock and they both did the same thing

foremanten10 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 10:17:35 AM)

red420 is right about the speed sensor. i was there when we found the problem with it not working right. he is saying if it does not shift with the esp's then take the speed sensor out and trim the bottom of it so it will fit down closer to the reduction gear because the gear is smaller than the factory one it might not read because it is to far away. they say some will read and some will not. but we took red420's case off a few times before we found out what the problem was and now it is working fine.

Green420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 10:24:51 AM)

Well I am about to put one in a foot shift model rancher so we will see how that goes.

foremanten10 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 10:44:12 AM)

hope it works for you but let us know how it turns out

420RancherInTheMud -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 10:50:50 AM)

Well just in case. Where is the speed sensor located and about how much did you have to trim off it?

foremanten10 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 4:16:59 PM)

it is located on the back of the crank case on the bottom side toward the shifter side and trim it about 1/16 of an inch

Green420 -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/11/2008 8:46:07 PM)

Can you post pics of the stock gears or can you count the teeth on the stock gears out of your bike.

HondaGuy -> RE: Turner Reduction for 420 (7/12/2008 9:54:33 PM)

I'm guessing the speed sensor is #10 in the pic Green420.
