^^^ Bevel gear = (1) set, diff gears = (2) sets... Double the cost to achieve the same effect. Not worth it IMO

What he is saying 4wheelfury is that guys are having problems with diff gears busting. He is saying wouldnt it be more cost effective replacing just two sets in the diff rather than replacing one set of bevels, then busting a diff and having to replace them also??

Yeah i agree that people are busting diff's but alot of it is self inflicted just like people breaking axle's all the time.Alot of people are busting diff's with the diff locks, pullimg them while they are tuening there tires really fast or riding fast wheelies in 4wd.Its going to alot of throttle control with the gear reduction.

I would pay more for a set of better diff gears and after market axles and not have to worry about NOT useing the power I payed allot of money for. IMO the bevel gears are going to cost you more in the long run.

By the way you can order the OEM gears for $240.44 for the Teryx that sure beats $500 off of EBAY.

Do you have the part numbers? Ill go to Kawi and order a set today.

What breaks inside the diff is not the ring and pinion gears, it is the spider gears and pin. Lowering the gearing will not strengthen the spider gears. Actually gearing lower (regardless if bevel gear or diff gears) will increase the leverage through the driveline and INCREASE the chances of breaking diffs and axles!!!

Gearing lower will ONLY take stress off of the engine and belt, it will increase stress on the rest of the driveline. And I do not recommend lowering the gearing for mud bog racing only trail riding.

wow. thats cool. so those Ebay gear kits is a rip.  Now heres the thing is the treyx a real BF motor stuffed into a side x side. i mean will the oem gears fit for sure in a pairie or BF. if so are the tranny gear ratios diffrent. also i like to find out if the diff ratio is diffrent from the P650/700 and BF650/750..
I'll have to do some research. since you would figure the side/side is about 300 plus pounds more in wt, over the BF750.

I found the teryx front bevel gears for $216. thats the cheapest i seen so far. I could say they your gona put more stress on your drive line. but look how so many poeple have broke axles and diffs with stock front bevel gearing. the key not to break stuff is take your thumb off the throttle when you get stuck. and dont just jam the darn thing WFO. if your easy on the throttle you'll stop breaking parts.

its should since the engine is the same from the BF750, the major thing changed other then the front bevel gears is the bigger clutch. the diffs are larger to handle the stress. I just placed an order for them to try out. I did make my own with a 20% reduction. and if i these are with in 15% then i have alot of diffrent gearing choices.

Hey guys glad to see, the innovative thinking in motion. I too am very curious to see if this is the solution to belts. Now HELLO Kawasaki! Build a Brute with gear reduction and a meaty front diff, we'll worrry bout the axles, and lets keep the Brutes at the top of the pack. Ohh and lets see a 950.

Sorry to rant.

If you've tried the Teryx gears please post We're very interested.

Still waiting to see how this has worked out for anyone . . . I wonder what is involved in making the swap.

I have my reduction on my brute and I tested it pretty hard but my engine took a poop so I didn't get all the testing I wanted. I will get it out in the next couple of weeks and see if my 840 can do some damage.
BTW I checked on lower gearing in the diffs and was told a couple time that a significant reduction would weaken that gear therefore making it easier to break the diffs (not good). My reduction makes my bike feel insane and now that I have 840ccs it feels even more responsive, I can't wait to give it some testing again.
