Yes, hats off to Yamaha for building machines designed to perform in extreme conditions! I bet in this unveiling, it has to be something big! More than trendy new graphics..... A new Big Bore would be sweet. EFI V-Twin with wet rear brake system and tough axles would be awesome!!!

Some one already makes a bike like that.
It's called a brute force 750. you can go and pick one up today. enjoy.

You did not read the quote right, he said "PERFORM in extreme conditions" not "suck in water and die in extreme conditions".

I hope it's not a v twin.  Working on those things is like pulling teeth.  Hopefully it's a manual 550 IRS.  I would have to sell the bear if that's the case.  EFI would be nice.  Programers are a lot easier to deal with than jets.

Please note the PARK is NOT OPEN at this time.  Yamaha asks that riders LEAVE their own ATVs at home for this event (even if you have a Yamaha).  High Lifter has some details to finish on the park and it will open soon.

The event is scheduled for 10am-4pm  Sat 6/14/08.  If you have a helmet, gloves, goggles and a long sleeve jersey bring them.  If you don’t have those, there will some available for you to borrow.

I have not decided yet.  I am not sure if it is worth the drive to ride a 700 with a 550 motor.

Sorry it took so long to reply back due to me working like crazy. I was very impressed with the 550 I rode out there. It sits on the same size(or maybe Identical) frame that the 700 Grizz is on. It is a very nimble, quick accelerating machine and rides like a dream absorbing the bumps and dips extremely well. We went through a little bit of mud and it had no problems getting through it in 2WD with stock tires. I think it is a peppy little machine for the engine size and would recommend it to people. I actually went out there to check it out for my brother-in-law who is looking for a machine in that CC range. The EPS(Electronic Power Steering) was also a nice feature and made for great manuevering on the trails. Overall I think its a great 4 wheeler and if they price it right it should sell with no problem.
