^^^^ I am surprised the park doesnt have people come in and clean the stuff up. I know after every event down here they pay people to come pick up all the trash. They dont really have any choice because they have cows on the property when there is no event, but still I would think MC would do the same.

Yes, they have people to clean up trash out there.  You have no idea how many Huge metal trash containers that are out there filled to the top waiting to be hauled off.  There is tons of trash.  How lazy can people be and just throw cans on the ground? I think there is going to be some major changes next year.

i just thought it was funny, a couple years back before the hurricanes hit new orleans, me and a really close friend of mine who lives in south louisiana were discussing mud nationals, he'd never been but had plenty of money and time to go, so once he heard me talking about it and he got very excited and told me that "come **** or high water he was going", well a couple weeks before nats they had very bad storms but no hurricane yet and needless to say the town he lived in was flooded in just a few days and i called him on the phone and it turned out he still showed so im not gonna pass it by the guy who posted the thread in the link above. jus thought id throw it out there for humor, no pun intented

Never...just camp at mudcreek That is half the fun. Getting to meet new people and just having a good time. You cant do that staying the the hotel. Plus having to load up everyday and waiting in line to get in.

there always has to be someone to rain on ur parade. i live just a few miles from the park so if you need me to i'll ask the local hotels and ask around when people start making reservations and i'll get back to ya asap.

I'm sure some people ae already making their reservations.  You need to do it before october though to make sure that you'll get them.  Maybe earlier.  The safe bet would be to make the reservations immediately, you can cancel anytime up to about 24 hours before the first night.  I made my reservations in September, then gave them to someone else after I decided I was going to camp.
How old are you?  If you're over 21, or maybe even 18, I'd go and camp with some other people down there, then go into town to the hotel to take a hot shower a couple times during the weekend.

by mn 09 i will be 20. i have called the best western and one other hotel and they said they don't take reservations till the beginning of the year. there is a slight possibility we might sleep in the inclosed trailer we will have then. but that is not for sure yet. if i would camp there i wouldn't know anybody there to camp with. lol

We were thinking about driving all the way through, but I think it will be a little much.

MudSportsman05,
What's your location? I see southwest, FL under your name.  I'm currently in Jax, FL and thinking about trying to attend mud nats next year.  It'll be my first time to Mud Nats.  Maybe we can meet up and convoy if I decide to go.

How many days left????

They have showers there, it might just be a wait to get in them.  I made my reservations at holiday inn.  Maybe next year as it gets close we should have a thread to help coordinate convoys or carpools down there.
You might now know anyone when you get there (I didn't) but in about 10 minutes you'll meet some people that will be happy to let you camp next to them.  If noone else has volunteered, look me up next year.

I am just glad to see that there are just as many people wanting to go back next year. If you check out a lot of these threads there are a lot folks that didnt enjoy themselves and are pretty uspet about the whole experience.

This thread needs to keep going strong! I cant post it enough how much fun and how much of a positive experience Team Swamp A$$ had all week. Cant wait to see those of you that plan on attending next year!

i've said it before and i'll say it again. if some one did not like nats, then they should stay home. that will thin out the crowd a little and let me have more fun. :D

also if you didn't enjoy nats and don't want to go back that is fine, but if you post something telling others not to go you are doing them a disservice. Let them check it out and form their own opinion. this year was my first and won't be my last, i am glad that i went.

sounds good to me,  it will be our first time as well. I am currently located in Tampa, but we would actually be leaving from Venice, which is about an hour south of Tampa.

I am quite glad they are banning the trucks.  You should see the holes they leave behind for us atv people to cross

They mess up the road more then it needs to be.  We are going back out to Mud Creek this week.  I can't wait!!

We might have a group put together to go down to the Nats next year .... but if gas prices continue to rise they might have to be put on hold. It's a 3 day drive from Ontario Canada down to Texas.
