Are you having the issues that Elk is having getting them both to light off on the 08?  Want to order some but worried about this issue. I guess It's not a big deal to throw in a relay.  Any updates on the issue Elkbow?

mine does the same thing.  sometimes its the left(most of the time) and then i'll turn it off and back on and it will be the right.  if i turn the on/off 3-4 times then they both come on

What made you get the ones that are so dark blue?

i got the h3 10,000k bulbs also and i love them. I wanted them really blue and bright and thats diffenetly what i got. I know the 8000k and the 6000k are brighter i wanted them real blue though.

the reason i was asking you that elk, is because i was wondering when the wiring make its way to the headlights, is the wireing on the left or the right of the frame. That would make either the left or right side headlight wire different lengths. That may sound a little confuseing. If the wires are just a inch or two different lengths, that would give one bulb that first boost of electicity and maybe not enough for the second one. Just something i was thinking and may help us.

i doubt the little bit of length difference will matter....

i'll be doing the relays here shortly, going to use just one and run the power out to both sides first, see if that is enough,  it should be, will be using 30A relay waterproof/shockproof, etc  will report back later

Electricity thru a wire is like a tube full of marbles.  When you put one in one end (electron) one is going to pop out the other end almost instantly.

Although it may have moved from one point to another without actually traveling a path and doesn't actually move unless you loook at it,  but at that point you have changed the results my measuring it.   (See quantum mechanics)

it does make a difference on both the size of the wire and the length they are run, and more so if they travel through anything that will add more resistance, and of course the main problem on the 08 is how much else is drawn off the battery....

in theory, the you wouldn't think that running relays would matter, since power is still coming from the battery, but its current that kicks on the bulbs....and when running through the wiring on the brute, there is enough drop that the HIDs doesn't like it....since i added the relays, with the high switch being the trigger and power coming directly from the battery, works every time....

What's the 5000k color? That's the whiter color right? What kind of relays will I need to make them both come on at the same time?

I have the 6000Ks, they are bright white.....on the 07 you may not need relays, but its always better in most cases to run with relays as it puts less strain on the current draw

I'm using SPST relays, most should work, just need to be rated a minimum of 20A....

Yes the length and diameter will effect the "flow" by adding resistance and just being a small portal. I don't think it will effect the rate of which the electricity reaches the end.  I could be wrong.  It's been known to happen.

Those wires going to the lights are quite tiny aren't they? Maybe thats how KHI is able to sell them for so much less than the Hondas and Yammies.  /wink

actually the lights have thick wires...

what i'm saying, on the 08 brute, whatever is drawing current through the harness and electrical system is keeping the lights from kicking on versus how the 07 and earlier are wired...could be the fuel injection electronics or whatever, but a relay is needed and would probably be a good thing to put on all of them

sure, here is my relay/fuse panel (however i pulled power for the relay for the HIDs right off the battery, since i only have one other wire on there for the panel).  The wires running over the top of the panel are for the winch contactor:

i have all but one spot filled on the fuse block now

you can pick up Bosch style relays at almost any auto parts store...

you can buy them cheap, couple dollars

as far as wiring relays, there are 4 connections:

pin 30 - goes to 12v positive battery connection (must be fused)
pin 85 - goes to chassis ground
pin 86 - trigger connection (what you use to tell the relay to turn on, like the high power switch wire)
pin 87 - Output, what you want to power, like the positive side of the HID ballast
