will these work?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-XENON-CONVERSION-KIT-BULBS-BALLASTS-9006-6000K-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36476QQihZ019QQitemZ290218936032QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

how are yall getting the corner lights to be a different color and come on seperate from the lights?
Also I am new to hid lights and was wondering what does the ballast do? I found some that was just the bulbs for cheaper and was wondering if the ballast is a must have. here is a link to them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300213595235&ssPageName=MERC_VI_ReBay_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=290218936032&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CategoryProximity&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=its%3DS%252BI%252BSS

Thanks for any help,
Brent Adams

The second link is just the bulb. They don't work like that. The kit is the only way to make it work.

You really need to find the "slim" ballast kits. They are a few bucks more but the size difference in the ballast is tremendous.Plus the slim ballast is 100% waterproof.

Just follow the directions we already put in this thread about which kit to get and how to put the bulb in the right spot.Positioning the bulb is crucial to how the beam pattern works.

On the outside lights, There is a plug in harness for the headights. It is 4 plug I believe. It's the harness you unplug to take the headlgiht out.In that bundle of wires is a red with yellow stripe wire.Snip that wire and it turns the main headlight bulb off on low beam only. When you turn the low beam on it lights the smaller light. When you do your HID's you will wire them to the highbeam wire only. The HID kits we are using are only one beam anyways. You won't need two.

The smaller outside bulbs are called 194 wedge type bulbs.Very popular in automotive stores.Might as well just get them in LEDs.The LEDS last forever.

That is the kit I bought, only I thought I got a great deal at $130 total shipped to my door. That is a smokin deal for under $100.00

I hope you do this mod, you will love the results.

Shore it looks like we think alike, I just put the LED blues on mine.....But my outside lights come on b/c I have just a one way bulb in my tail light, which in return when I hit the brake with the lights out my outter lights come on, but I am getting a 2 way bulb soon, so you said it I snip that wire, then the outside lights will come on when in low beam?

That is the HID kit you need. They are all pretty much the same but I found a guy that sold them shipped for $80.I'll find his name for ya.

Yes, you snip that red with yellow stripe wire. That will turn the main bulb off on low beam only.

yeah i did the 50 watt kit and it doesnt get hott at all.I ran them all night  everynight at nats and the lenses were always cool to the touch. And as far as the ballast, the ballast for my 50 watt kit is like 1 inch longer and maybe a half inch deeper than the 30 watt one i bought. And i dilectric greased all the connections when i installed them and i bet i had them underwater at least 30 times at nats and i mean up to the bottom of the tripple clamp on the handlebar water and they never gave me one problem. One time out of probably the 50 or more times of turning them on and off the left bulb didnt ignite.I simple turned them off and turned them right back on and they both ignited. And they are extremely bright to say the least.

Finnished mine this evening, wasn't the easiest thing I've done to it butt it was well worth it. I'd say it is at least 3x as bright. Should make night riding even more fun

just got my hid lights in and im going to start on them tom. One question, what color wire is the high beam because im going to snip the low beam wire so the side lights come on? On the kit, the red wire goes to the high beam wire and the black goes to the other...right?

Hi, I can't remember which wire was the high or low... You will end up sniping both so when you do, just snip one at a time and see what doesn't work.

As for the HID kit.... the red wire is your positive the black goes to ground.

Have fun, this is a awesome mod and really lights up the trail.

make sure you set the depth of your new HID bulb exzactly at the same depth as the stock Halogen bulb was. If you don't, your light pattern will be way messed up.

Clipping the Red with the yellow stripe controls will kill the main bulb and leave the smaller lit....I mentioned this just a few posts up.

You should REALLY read this WHOLE thread before you start. It contains ALL your answers.
