Does anyone have any pics of the new h3 bulb in the old base. I just want to make sure I have it in there properly. I noticed the older pics dont work anymore. Do you fill the back of the bulb base with the rtv silicone? Thx guys. I'm getting anxious to do this mod

yes fill the back of the bulb base with rtv silicone and in my experiences with installing these hids it doesnt matter how deep the bulb sits in the factory base but mines about an eigth of an inch from the bottom

This mod works awesome

It is critical that you have the new HID bulb inserted at the EXACT depth as the old halogen bulb was.

I am sorry that my original pictures don't work anymore. I don't know why they don't.

Do this mod. You will love it!

Are the ballasts waterproof or do you have to mount them high so they don't get wet?

I got my HID kit on ebay for around $80 shipped. Its the slim ballast kit with H3 bulbs.Color Diamond White 6K.

If your willing to read the previous 13 pages there's all the info a person would need to do the install on a Brute. As for the 360 i don't know what size bulb would be needed.

You are going to really want the 6k or higher. Anything less looks yellowish. There is no need for the 55 watt kit. The smaller one is plenty bright enough, I promise. Nothing else you need to know. Just pic a color and get the slim ballast H3 kit. Nothing more nothing less. Good luck with it.

Hi guys.  Just read thru this whole thread and have a couple of questions.

1. I have an 06 Prairie 700.  Does anyone know what bulbs (H3, H4, etc) this headlight lens uses per chance?
2. Being that my unit has only 2 headlights (no side markers) will I have a 'high beam' only option? I understand that one setting is PLENTY, but I am heading out to the Nevada desert in a couple weeks and would love to light up the place at night ;)

Thanks in advance - and I apologize if I missed the answer to my questions.  I'm VERY eager to get this project underway!

edited cuz I'm a tool. <sigh>

HI Im new here... Just curious if anyone knows what the exact bulb type is for the brute ? .. I read some of the thread and it sounds like people are using a modified H3? I may be able to get the exact bulb match for this and possibly and others - rhinos teryx  and razors for sure!

I used the h3 bulbs in my prairie 700.  After that you do the same things the guys with the brutes are doing.  I did not get the high and low but they are way brighter than my old highs and lows combined.  I even had a group pull over on the trail at night untill I passed because they were so bright they could not see.

Hey autosync, thanks for the props - glad I could help!

I was trying to find out what exact type of bulb the Brute uses, that way I could check and see if its available. I hear that people are doing a h3 mod but if someone could get me a bulb type or a picture I could match it up! ALSO, we  have the stock connectors for alot of different vehicles so if someone could post a picture of the plug (where you connect into the stock wiring) I may be able to get that as well. We do plug n play kits mostly, I dont believe in cutting wiring or modifying bulbs if the right parts are available ands we dont have too!.
