This is just a warning for guys thinking about doing this mod. Don't do it unless you're prepared to mod all your buddies bikes too. I'm gonna have to start telling people mine are factory lights or something. Everybody that's seen them so far have ask me to do there's! The first few I said I would do it if they bought the beer for the next ride but now it looks like I'm gonna have a liquor store there's so many.

Seems that on those 'cheap' kits, the ballasts always go bad.  I'm on my 2nd set of HID's in my truck in a year.

I'm seriously thinking about just going ahead and buying a good set. I wanted the high-low kit anyways but when I put mine in, way back when this thread first started, everybody was saying you could only have one or the other. I just checked Ebay and the replacement ballast are gonna be like $80! I just gave $100 for the whole kit last time!

I think you sabatoged me Johnathan! I know what your plan was though. You wanted me to hit a tree or something in the dark so you could get a Brute for cheap to do your evil jigga-wine experiments on! LOL!

Hi Everyone!

I'm The guy that started this thread.

It has been great hearing about all the people that put HID lights on their ATV's and other toys. Lets try and keep it at that.

I have the cheap kits from ebay on my  ATV,  MOTORCYCLE,  and my LIFTED AND SUPERCHARGED SAFARI VAN.... They all are working great! In fact, it seems like after a few days they ingnite everytime.

They sure are bright! I hope everyone is having fun with this mod!

So far I'm loving the HIDs .

On my 08 i HAD to have the relay. Which i bought before hand so it was not a problem but just to see if they would work with out it i hooked it up the first time with no relay and not once out of 30 tries did both lights come on....not one time!!  After i added the relay it works flawless now. Both fire up every time.

Thanks for helping to peaking everyones interest in this mod StockStinks and thanks to elkbow for posting up the schematic on installing the relay. It was a big help.

I must have just got a bad one I guess. I already ordered a new set since the replacement ballast was gonna be just a little less than the whole set. So now I guess I'll have some spare bulbs and ballast for the future.

i got my kits for $80 dollars with shipping and everything.  sounds like getting a new kit was your best bet cause now you got two good ballast on the way for the price of one.
