Incredible, incredible!

Easy mod and super bright.

Completely waterproof.

This is a must have mod. I would be happy to give step by step directions and pictures if enough people would like it.

When they are shining at my garage door it looks like it might start it on fire!! JK, kinda.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I am still waiting for the slow curing  silicone glue to dry. I will add more pictures when that happens.

Here is what I have for you right now.....

First thing is first. I am not affiliated with anyone that is selling these. However, I did buy 3 kits from the same person from ebay and got the kits in less than 3 days. I also think he is the cheapest.

I used HID kits with a mini ballast and a 9006 type bulb. This kit costs me $120.00 for the left and right side.If you want to save $50.00 you can buy the kit with the regular size ballast. Both are waterproof.

The bulb is a K temperature. (that is the color of the light) You can order any temp you want.

I could not find a HID bulb that is a direct fit for our brutes.

You will have to drill out the stock Halogen bulb base and grind a little off the flange of the HID light. THIS IS VERY EASY! If you do it right, you will even have a stepped area inside the Halogen base that the HID base will seat against. The lighted part of the bulb will end up exactly in the same spot as the stock Halogen.

You will not have the option of a high beam and a low beam. Trust me, you will NOT need it.

The modified bulb will fit into the housing just like the stock one did.

Here is the pictures that I have so far.

This is a mini ballast kit for one side,

This is the stock Halogen and the unmodified HID bulb

Here is the stock halogen base drilled out and the HID bulb base ground down to fit into the halogen base

This is what it looks like with the HID bulb slid into the halogen base

This is the transformation from halogen to HID

Here is what the difference is between the Halogen and HID... The stock Halogen is on the left and the HID is on the right. WOW! It looks like it is going to start my door on fire!!lol

The HID lights actually draw less amperage that the dim Halogen and can handle much more vibration and last much longer!

I hope you all enjoyed this and modify your own. This is a easy project and you can really see the results.

REMEMBER......STOCKSTINKS!

I have the same mod and got mine off of ebay also.  Very easy mod and unbelievable on the trail!  Parked next to my brother on his Brute with stock headlights and when I turned on mine you couldn't even tell he had his on!  I ride ALOT at night and haven't had a problem yet and everyone I ride with wants to know how to do it.  I also have only "on" as an option, no high or low beam.  I connected  my headlights to the high beam wire and now if I run the switch in low beam only the side lights come on.  Very cool upgrade and definetly worth every penny!

Couple questions for ya..
1..How did you hook the HID harness up to the bikes healdight wiring?
2..Any trouble with them getting wet or under water?

"Ok , by popular request , I am going to explain step by step , who to get the kit from , which one to get and how to install, All I want is credit for this idea!!! ok, here goes! get the kit from this guy on ebay ( I am in no way affiliated or get kick backs or anything ) it's just , I have found no one cheaper thats it! his screen name is ( super_digi ) look under H.I.D. Light kits. so you order an "H-3" kit, I run a 8000k version thats the color of the light which is blueish, by no means do you touch the bulb!!! take headlight assembly out disconnect the plugs that goes to the lights, take front light case off from the back cover, now take the main bulb out, get pliers and yank bulb out, yes, (break it) you dont need it anymore, once bulb is out get a drill bit ( I used a 1/2 uni bit) and drill the center of the stock socket from the back ( this is to feed the wires of the light bulb through) super glue the new bulbs bottom ring to the "edge" of the stock socket you guttedmeaning you want the bulb sticking into the light reflector as far inside as possible, the get " rtv" red silicone at any auto parts store and fill in all the open spacing around wires on the back side of the socket this will make it water tight and will hold the bulbs heat well. ok everything else is going to be plug and play except for the original plug that went into the the original bulb which you need to snip it off...you are going to have (3) wires one black (which is negative) one red with a yellow stripe thats your low beam. the 3rd one you will not use, its your high beam! these lights are so bright you do not need a high beam trust me!!! so connect the black wire from the original harness to the black wire to the ballast, and the red with yellow stripe wire to the red that goes to your ballast, repeat these procedures to the other side then mount you ballast as high as possible under your plastics and tie rap them to your frame ( high and dry) . you should be good to go.... for those not fimiliar with H.I.D.'s they flicker when first turned on (thats normal) and within 3-4 seconds they burn at full intensity...you will not believe how bright these babies are!!! and finally the present cost of the kit itself is 106.00 shipped....there is no one that I know of that make this kit for our bikes... I just sold a raptor 700r and was contemplating getting a kit for it and never did, however someone in....

HE ALSO SELLS A KIT FOR HI AND LO BEAM

this was posted months ago all you have to do is use the search button thanks Defender Bob....

I'm gonna have to go with StockStinks idea with the 9006 kit.It makes an actual base for the bulb.

I did order a kit already..lol.

Theres only three wires for the headlights-high, low and ground.  Pick which position you like for your headlights and connect( its a cut and connect situation).  The wire you don't use you just seal up, tape off what ever you decide.  The lights are completely water proof and mine have been under at least half a dozen times with NO problems.  If thats not a jinx I don't know what is!  But hopefully they remain trouble free for me and everyone else.  As far as the base went my bulbs fit inside the stock bulb, after drilling it out for the wires, perfectly like they were made to go together.  Little **** glue and a bunch a RVT and I was up and running.  It was ALOT easier than I thought it would be.

I have done the mod and it doesn't make a difference whether you use the H3 or the 9006.  They both fit into the OEM base after drilling and you have to use high temp silicone to seal them.  Only difference in H3 and 9006 in my opinion is that you don't have to grind the tabs  off of an H3 bulb.  (like on 9006)  Easier.....

Just curious as to whether we need to use a relay, I would prefer not to as to not complicate the waterproofing and wiring process. The less wires under there the better in my opinion.
My low beams are cut-off so I can run the outer my LEDS already. No need for a high and low beam on these things.

The little bulbs are 194 wedge type bulbs, very popular and easy to find in many colors.

Good grief that is awesome.Mine should be here this week with any luck.I have my outers in a blue LED so only they switch on with the low beam.

How are they igniting for you?
Did you just plug/splice int the stock headlight harness in the fender well?
You see any need for a relay?
Where and how did you end up mounting the mini ballast?
