ok ya'll, help me out,
I'm putting together a stereo, amp and 2 speakers, nothing fancy, but good enough for a quick tune.
my question is that if I run the power of all that on a cigarrete plug, is that enough? or what is the best way to power the system? an extra battery?
thanks in advance.

If you're running an amp, I wouldn't recommend running the power wire to the cigarette lighter. If you are going to run one small amp, you'll probably be okay but if you're going to run a large amp or multiple amps then you will need some heavy wire straight to the battery. I suggest running a heavier wire to the battery anyway just to be on the safe side, that way you won't have to worry about melting wires, blowing fuses, or starting fires.

I plan on making a custom system involving two kicker 10" marine subs and 2 Kicker Marine 6 1/2s,I plan on using a small 750 Watt maybe even smaller amp. Will this require to much juice or will i be okay running it to my battery without it draining it?I know i wanna use a 10" sub i might just go with 1 prolly but just need some suggestions on a setup that i will be okay to run to my battery without worrying about it draining it dead?

I'm not familiar with the Cats so I don't really know what you're talking about but use your best judgement and you'll figure something out. I may become more familiar with the Cats soon though as I may replace my Foreman with one.  Either that or the Popo.

Ide say go for the Cat they have the most ground clearance stock and come with one of the best transmissions you will find on and automatic besides the rincon.I just installed the HMF on mine and it sounds so good.PoPos are decent bikes but they sound goofy and there styling just ain't for me,plus i see you already have a PoPo in the family so why not get something different.I've owned a 450 foreman, and i have a 420 rancher and a 200 Big Red three wheeler and i love me some Honda,But IRS big Bores is where its at in the mud.

I know, that's why I'm looking to start over with something else. It just sucks that I have so much money invested in my Honda, and it's still like brand new, and it's paid off! I'll never get the money I have in it back out of it.

I'm thinking about making a audiobox for my rinny. I had planned on using 1-300watt amp and 2-8inch subs and 2-6inch highs. Can this be run to my cigg. plug or should I just run wire to my battery? I plan on having strobes, small leds, and my audio system running on my bike. Should I try to get another small motor cycle battery to run some of these or what? Any suffestions?

If you had just read a few posts up you would have seen that your question has already been asked and answered.

Yes thats the thing about all projects you never get what you put in,and you do have a nicely done 500 so you outta be able to get a pretty penny for it.Don't jump into another bike do your research a long time before you purchase one.I researched bikes for over 3 months straight before i bought my CAT.Good luck with whatever you decide man

I've got a question:  I bought off of ebay a 200 watt marine sony cd player, and four marine clarion 6.5's.  Am I gonna need an amp?  I mean it's gonna run something like 40 watts rms to each speaker, shouldn't that be enough?  I plan on building a custom box out of 3/4" MDF and then either fiberglass it or bedliner it, what do yall think?

That will be enough just depending on how much "thump" you want to be behind your speakers. Im running a 150watt marine radio and a mtx 350watt amp pushin four memphis 6.5s

ok, here's another question,  how big of an amp should I run?  How many watts can decent quality 6.5's take?  I've never built a stereo and have no clue what works and what doesn't.   one more question if I was to use pvc pipe similar to the atv audiopipe setup what size pipe?  like I said it's gonna be for 6.5's.  Am I going to have to cut a ring that I'll screw inside the pipe and then use that to screw the spearkers to?  I'm just curious seeing as how I nowhere near a place that'll have pipe that size anyway.

Are the mini 100w motorcycle amps any good? And where is the best place to mount an amp in a Rhino? I was thinking about getting two of the 100w amps and put them in each a 8" bazooka tube, which I already have. Do ya'll think the amps would get too hot in the bazooka tubes?

Cajunn,
I got my 150 watt amps (which are the same size as the 100 watt) from autotoys.com.  They may even be less expensive than the 100 watt.

Jeffro it should say on the back of the speaker how many watts it will handle.I have 4 Polk 6.5`s and am running a 600 watt somy marine amp to them. You want to use 6" PVC and you will need to cut a ring to go inside the pipe to screw the speakers to.I just cut a thin strip of the PVC and glued it in with pipe cement.Hope that helps

Well I got my system done today. I made it out of 3/4" outdoor plywood and dura-lined it. I ended up with four 6.5" Memphis speakers and a 350watt mtx amp. I put my strobes on top of the box and then after I got it dura-lined I coated it with textured spray paint to add a glossy look to it. I think it turned out great

what keeps the amp from jossling around inside the pipe when your riding?

You can glue some half round wood pieces to the bottom of the pipe and put your screws through it, that should hold it
