100% agreed.  I'm trying to remember the size of the oil cooler on the Suzuki Hayabusa Super Sport bikes.  I believe they are a 10 row core cooler and that should be a great size for the Honda Foreman 450s, not to big, not to small.

See now that's wicked, I like that!  What size oil cooler is your friend using in these pictures?

Here's are pics of the Foreman with the Busa oil cooler.

The yellow Foreman is my pics is using the stock oil cooler, just relocated.

Kristian, in this pic of my old 300 (big!). You can see where the oil line is spliced at.

I am judging from your posts that you are not 100% sure on cutting the line.

First remove the line from the engine.

I have always used a tubing cutter that spins around the peice being cut.

If you or a friend have a flaring tool, your best bet is to slightly flare out the ends you cut(I am talking about a very small amount) so there is no way the tubing with hose clamps can slip off.

Then heat up the tubing you are going to use(I have used a cup of boiling water) and slip it over the ends of the line you have cut.

Then use two (yes overkill, but you do not want that line coming off on a ride) hose clamps on each side to clamp the tubing to your hard line.

The oil cooler should have a barbed fitting, so you do not really need two on each end there, but why not use them anyway(they come in packs of 4).

Flush the oil lines and cooler out and make sure you have it really clean before reinstalling it.

If I missed anything or anyone else has another suggestion please jump in.

Stephen

Just buy a bigger bike!

look I'm asking serious questions for a problem that I need to solve, If I had the money to buy a bigger bike then I would, but at this point I don't,,, so if you can't answer my questions then stay off my post, thank you

Don't get your panties in a wad. I am simply saying it would be easier to buy a bigger bike. Sell the one you have, add the money you are gonna put into it to "try" and make it stronger and buy a used bike with more ccs. Judging by your post you are not a mechanic. It is gonna cost a pretty penny to have someone else do the work, unless you have a friend that can do it.

Trust me, I know. I spent over 4k making my rhino stronger. Not being a jack"butt", just trying to shoot straight with you.

BTW, your welcome!

Hey, sorry about what I said before, but I really like my 300 and I'am willing to do whatever it takes to "hop it up".....and actually I'am mechanically inclined, I've rebuilt mutiple engines, but.......I wanted to get this oil cooler thing right, the first time LOL.

Allright, thanks for the pic Cale BTW that a very big 300 compared to mine. I also have another question though........

I realize that the hose coming off of each side oil cooler is much larger than the little hardline that I will be hooking onto, so I'm assuming that I will have to use a brass fitting in order to size down to a smaller hose to hook onto the littler hardline????....and will a suffucient amount of oil be able to travel through the little hardline then through the hose and feed through the oil cooler back into the engine??? and also should I mount the oil cooler on my front racks to prevent from clogging with mud???,or will this effect the oil flow??? (i dont not think that it would) but a 2nd opinion would be nice

thanks

I would like to get that one, but I can get the rancher oil cooler from my friend for $20......what makes the oil cooler of the 300ex different, as in why do you not have to cut the lines?

thanks G H O S T......I would much rather just hook on a 300ex cooler instead of having to splice my lines.

Wouldn't adding an aftermarket oil cooler starve the top end for oil?
