This is just an FYI info thread. Deestone came to us and asked us the make their Swampwitch better if possible. We did. They concured. The Witch is no doubt a good tire, but here are the new added improvements we made on the MST. A much flatter profile for improved traction and handling( particular at high speed technical trail use ),this also allows for longer tire life compared to the crowned profile of the Witch, improved sipping technology for superior traction on hard surfaces such as slick rocks or glaze ice, a tad more side wall wrap to help paddle a little better in mud and snow. This also really helps to get you out of a deep rut easier compared to the Witch. As people have pointed out both tires are very good and I agree. However the MST does have some better features that turn into more customer benefits. The key to enjoy these added benefits the best is very low psi. Normally 3.25 to 4 max is best. A lot of people run less with no problems. Summing up, a Witch can't do a single thing better than the MST, but the MST does have more overall performance available. The small dollar amount difference in the two tires in my mind is canceled by the longer tread life of the MST and in us taking a very good tire in the Witch and making the improvements stated above. Since tires are the number one thing you can do on your ATV, why not buy the tire that is improved over the original at the request of the company that makes them both ? Just so anyone who might like to know, a ton of R&D went into this tire before we approved it's final design. We knew if it was not a superior tire compared to the Witch it would be hard to justify it's slightly higher cost. I truly believe we did just that. The last thing I would like to point out is, fairly recently we have discovered that by running wides all around does not hurt the trail performance, steering, handling, etc and greatly improves the MST's mudding abilities. Better pulling and paddling, better clean out and climbing out of a hole with the wides is doable with no downside apparent. Normally I don't think this is a very good idea with most tires and most applications, but with the MST it appears to be OK.
