i think they come without oil in them cause when mine broke i didnt have any oil in the water
and didnt have much on my frame

    Status: offline     		VICKNAIR, you sound like youve done this before having to rebuild a motor, i still cant get the casing to come apart, the only bolts that are still on the thing is i think 2 on the front and all it is doing is holding a little plate a little bit over the edge of a bearing so im guessing the bearing doesnt fall out, i suppose i could take those 2 bolts out but i dont feel they go in that deep but maybe im wrong, and am i wrong about the stuff in the motor sticking with the back crankcase when you pull them apart? i am going to read through the manual again tomorrow night to make sure i didnt skip a step or something, i have hit the thing with a hammer with no luck of splitting them, im guessing that the bearings hold the thing together pretty darn tightly

    Status: offline     		i checked through the manual again last night to make sure i had everything taken off that needed to be taken off and it was all off except for that part on the backcasing that the pullstart and stuff connects too...it did show in the picture in the manual that there are a couple of dowel pins between the two casings so maybe it is just tight fitting still or the bearings could be holding it together still, i dont wanna take a screw driver to it to try and get it to pry loose, i have hit it a few times with a hammer with no luck at all...im suppose to go on friday and get the alternator part taken off the back of the crankshaft so maybe once that is out there will be more room for me to break it loose...all that i can think that is holding it together still is the gasket may have a good hold on both casings or that the bearings and gearing insides the motor and on the crankshaft are still holding it tightly...before i started to try to break the casings loose i could put my hand on the front of the crankshaft and turn it very easily by hand and make everything inside spin, after i tried to get it loose now i can no longer do that so im unsure if i mighta moved it so slightly that it is no longer wanting to turn

    vicknair do you happen to know how to get the old sleeve out and put the new sleeve into the cylinder?  do you just take like a press and flip the cylinder over and push the cylinder out the top then whats the process of putting the new cylinder in?...i was planning to get an entire top end that came with a stock piston and a stock sleeve and all the other jazz that goes with it but not sure if that deal will fall through, do i have to get it honed or anything like that if i get a stock piston and stock sleeve?

    Status: offline     		oh i didnt know...but now i do, still waiting to see if a deal for an entire top end will work out for me or not, ill know by friday if if i will get it or not

    vicknair do you know that question i asked in my last post about how to get the old cylinder sleeve out and get a new one put in and if i order a stock sleeve and piston do i have to do anything else to it like getting it honed or anything like that?  thanks for the input
