haha, i kinda wish i wouldnt have a girl, i hate sharing riding time with her haha, plus she always wants to come, i try to find out what she is doing on saturday in hopes that i can manage to find someone to ride with me while she is doing whatever haha...hey ryan i talked to candace today, she said i could ride with you and she would double with my cousin on the big bear, so looks like we are set unless i can get this motor torn down and rebuilt in time

haha ryan, all the help i can get would be grate, never taken anything this complex apart ever in my life, i am pretty good about taking crap apart and being able to put it back together, i can read parts diagrams and parts fiches...i live at a mechanic shop so i have access to alot of tools, but those rare stupid as crap tools that honda uses i might be SOL on them...i think i have to take off a bunch of crap to access the crank and the cam but i am not sure, ill see when i get back at it, i got this weekend that hopefully i can tear the motor down and order what i need then the next weekend the girlfriend works so i should be able to have it all back together before the 19th but no telling since i am not an avid mechanic, i like breaking bolts ;)

just installed my temp gaug and changed trans fluid. I will change front and rear diff tomorrow. Temp gauge works good

I heard the fan turns on at 210 then back off at 180. I ran it down the road it went up to 180 I turned fan on and it went down. I'm going to hook up temp sensor to HL radiator. I will let you know when it kicks on and off.

vicknair, went riding last weekend bike started rattling really good so i was trying to baby it back to the truck and it had it about halfway back and locked up it seemed, tore the top end off i was missing a piece out of the sleeve on the cylinder, was missing a bunch off the back side of the piston, the rod on the crankshaft side broke completely off then i guess with me still running it pushed the rod off and kinda wedged it between the camshaft and the edge of the casing and so with me running it still it just kinda chewed up the camshaft...i got the motor pulled out of the bike and tore down cept for one bolt i think on the crankshaft that ur suppose to have some stupid rotor puller special tool to get it off, i got the front clutch part off easy with some cajun engineering but the back i couldnt think of a way to do it, i think thats the last step before i can crack the rest of the casing...hopefully it is, i just ordered a new crackshaft and camshaft for the bike and ima order the top end stuff tomorrow and im suppose to go by the honda shop next friday on my half a day off from work and get a mechanic there to use his secret tool to pull that piece off for me so that i can do the rest, think they said it would be $10 for him to do it...unless u have another way to get it off...think its the alteranator part...its on the backside where the pullstart was, i took the pull start cover off then broke loose the little gearing thing thats rite there gotta pretty much use a impact to get it off, has those un reusable nuts then i could take the back cover off and then i ran into some stupid piece that im talking about

if you go to honda of troy the pretty cheap but if you order from them get the part #can call you order in if u just call in the prices r different for some reason they bout the cheapest i found

well i ordered some of the part and some i havent yet, i ordered a new stock camshaft and a new stock crankshaft...since the bike was bored as much as it would go already i am going to have to start over, hl has a complete top end for a 500 stock for sale for $450, i figured id buy that and start it over at stock again, this bike is going to end up being girlfriends bike when i get a new one, so i dont want it working her to to bad...yea i know i need the tool, instead of buying the lil dang thing i was just planning to go to the honda shop and get them to pull it off for me for $10 and be done with it

what yall think guys?

yea im gonna buy an entire top end off highlifter and just sell my old few pieces that are still good if anyone needs them, comes with piston and rings ready to bolt up and go...i cant believe that piece has to come off in order for the dang cases to come apart, unless it doesnt and im looking at what it says to do wrong, when you take the cases apart i think everything stays on the back casing and the front comes free, right now i have it like that and it just doesnt want to come loose unless there is another set of bolts im suppose to undo...ima double check here in a minute and make sure
