First of all thanks to greenhead for the tips, but I did the slide mod today in about 45 minutes and took some pics and put the steps in redneck form so everybody will understand. Hers a link to take the carb out(very simple). https://hmfengineering.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1831&page=2&highlight=arctic

Once you have the carb out take the top cover off. by removing the 4 screws

then carefully remove the diaphram(black rubber hoodus) which is what the slide is connected to dont rip the diaphram. There will be a long spring a white thing in the slide and the needle watch how they come out but you cant really put them in wrong.

Once you have the slide/dia. out you will find 2 holes on the opposit ends of the diaphram the one closest to the outside is the one you drill with a 1/8 bit. Make sure not to get any shavings in your carb. Put it back together and your done.

There is no need to rejet the carb, and it gives a little more 'snap' to your throttle response. For what it costs(nothing) it is well worth it

if you're rejetting with a jet kit, then you should be doing this anyway.  My FMF kit came with a little drill bit to just this. I read on here about this before i got the kit.  So i was planning on doing it regardless.

I assume that you have to remove all the plastics to get the carb out right? When I was doing my snorkels, I could not get the plastics off all the way. Just had to keep moving them around out of my way. Is there a trick to removing the front plastics?

You don't have to remove the plastics to get the carb out.  To get the front off, you have to lift it up then turn it to get past the handle bars.

I also did 4 for the same reason.  You can always cut off more but it's hard to add.
